Going a little faster than others
I live in the Carolinas. So I don't have Orioles, which is what I think the orange flavor was created for??? I have never seen orange suet sold here but I became curious about it after reading the reviews on Amazon. I have mockingbirds, cardinals, cow birds, crows, blue jays, house finches, mourning doves, woodpeckers, wrens -- typical birds you find in my area. I also host hummingbirds in the summer and make clear nectar for them. For the non-nectar eating backyard birds, I have a feeding station that at any given time has seed blends, no melt suet, and meal worms available. So, I do love birds and try to do what I can to encourage a healthy habitat and attract these beautiful beings so that I can appreciate their beauty. That's what made me purchase this. The cardinals, in particular, seem to love the peanut butter no melt suet and the hot pepper delight no melt suet that c&s makes. With the orange suet, I notice the female cardinals seem to love it most. I put a block out Friday and by Sunday, I observed that several female cardinals kept flying over to it and literally taking big bites of it, not just picking little pieces. The male cardinals are eating it too but they take a little and fly away...They are not sitting on the feeder and taking big bites like the girls who have been literally chomping on it and sitting on the feeder until they've had several bites. To me, it smells just like the peanut butter version. But it must have an additional bit of orange flavor because they do, so far, seem to prefer it slightly more than the regular c&s peanut butter. It is crumbly as some reviewers noted but the mourning doves seem to enjoy eating whatever suet pieces and seeds fall to the ground. I won't say the birds are going through it like wildfire. I would say that they are eating it about a third to half faster. The block I put out Friday afternoon is half gone and it is Monday morning. Usually, it takes about four or five days for them to eat a half block. I saw mockingbirds eating it this morning and they seemed to be fighting over it. I didn't think they were avid suet eaters but they like it. Glad I experimented and that these singles were available to allow me to try it without having to buy a case. I bought two because I already have a case of the peanut butter kind plus several of the no melt high energy suet that I stocked up on from the Christmas Tree Shop. I might get a couple more singles. But once I use up the box of peanut butter, I would definitely consider buying a box of this.

High quality but took a while for the birds to identify this as food
Overall this is a high quality product. Looks very nutritious for the birds (based on the ingredients). I'm not sure if this is a local phenomenon but it took about a week for the birds in my area to express any interest in eating this brand.I thought it was interesting since the cheaper stuff I bought quickly attracted many birds while the more expensive one they seemed picky about.

IT IS THE BEST!
I agree that this is the absolute best suet available! But I hope no one is paying $8.56, never mind $11.70, which has to be some kind of error. It says I bought this product and I did, but not at the ridiculous price listed. I ordered 10 (thru but not from Amazon 3 mos ago) for $1.27 per cake and with shipping the total was $22.60. That is much more in line with what it should cost, but unfortunately that offer is no longer available. However, Amazon does now list 12 cakes for $31.08, which is still a little pricey but at least comes with free shipping if you order something with it for four bucks.

My birds' favorite suet!
My backyard birds go crazy for this, I have to put it out one chunk per day or they'd eat the whole thing in a few hours.

I am referring to Orange Delight Suet delivered [or not
I am referring to Orange Delight Suet delivered [or not!] by Supreme Hardware. These people are horrible. They either deliver very, very late, or niot at all. Their rating should be MINUS 2 stars.Instead, buy from Champion Values at https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0044UPKDY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1They sell in lots of 12 and they deliver promptly. I would give them at 5-star.C&S Orange Delight Suet is fantastic--5 stars. The birds love it. They eat it twice as fast as previous brands I have tried. It's all gone by noon. And the packaging is superior. Other brands make a mess all over your hands and the feeder. C&S packaging is easy to open and easy to insert in the feeder without having to touch it.Hurray for C&S!
