... mics on my Canon Rebel T6i already sound very good. I am quite happy with that audio
The built in mics on my Canon Rebel T6i already sound very good. I am quite happy with that audio. However, this Movo mic is a definite upgrade on the frequency response, having better lows and highs. In lieu of a better term, the sound has a better "fullness" to it, if you will. I have tested all 3 orientations of the mic...X-Y, A-B (parallel and spaced side by side pointing in same direction), and the 120 Deg separation. The first 2 have reasonably good stereo separation at closer ranges like, say, 5-10 feet away or so. However for my primary use in church where the main subjects are usually from 10-50 feet maybe more, the 120 Deg ORTF separation is best, giving very beautiful stereo imaging. This type separation was originally devised because it closely duplicates how our ears work and give the best natural sounding audio. My particular Movo doesn't have perfectly matched mics. The left mike has slightly more gain than the right mic. But this is actually not really problematic. The T6i mics are perfectly matched, but the Movo has an average of about 3 dB of more gain to it on the left channel. I can't really tell if it has any obvious effect on stereo imaging accuracy. I don't think it's audibly noticeable at all. But, being the precision freak that I am, I can electronically see it and know it's there and have played around with adjusting it to perfection. I used WavePad basic free edition to extract the audio and save as PCM. Then insert into Audacity, separated the channels, use Amplify under Effects tab to lower left channel by 3 dB, joined the channels. Then used an audio converter to change back to the original AAC and put it back in the video. This info I provided for those who like messing around fine tuning stuff as I do! 8-) As I said, the slight gain difference is actually not audibly noticeable.Yes, it seems be made of cheap plastic, but it's actually very sturdy, the buttons have a solid feel to them. I adjusted the gain control to be just slightly a little higher than the built in mics...I let the auto gain in the camera take care of the rest. Overall I am very pleased with the price to quality ratio. Very nice mic that certainly is a very noticeable low cost upgrade from the built in mics. Happy I bought this.

Helped with sound amplification
I found this mic helpful for my video camera sound. Only giving 4 stars because it felt a little heavy and bulky.

Excellent inexpensive mircophone
For only $50, this is an excellent and inexpensive stereo microphone for your camera. It has a certain amount of self-noise, hard to assess, though, how it compares to considerably more expensive mics.Pros:Very compact, lightweight, and easy to use.It has an input volume control. It has an earphone jack so that you can listen as you're recording and adjust the input volume (a feature I really like). It picks up sound quite well and you can change the directional angle of the two microphones. It has a two-step high pass filter that you can use if there's too much wind noise. It has a dead cat for wind noise control.Questionable issues:I am not sure that the directional angle does a lot (I do notice a difference, but it is not spectacular).I am not sure about the noise attenuation; it seems unnecessary in almost all situations.Cons:It picks up a fair amount of background noise from behind, particularly (unsurprisingly) when the main source of sound is a bit on the quiet side (i.e. it is not a shotgun or a parabolic mic).Update Nov. 28, 2015: I gave one of these to my brother, who's recording live opera music with it. He said that the quality of his recordings with this microphone and a Nikon D3300 is better than the professional recordings the opera house people do.

Terrible voice sound quality
Report downgraded to bad.Overall sound quality is bad. Proximety effect is terrible. Not enough working distance to subject to achieve acceptable sound quality.Problems with the mic assemblies?MOVO, I want to see the schematic for this thing.2 out of 2 units not good.Gutsy PCB design. 4+ IC chips for what? Ditto for the high current hash choke.-Big weight reduction from VXR500Not good: mount too wide for accessory shoe on HXR-NX70U and NIKON D7500Of course it goes on a cold shoe mount.I used adapter included with VXR500 to mount the VXR280.

Didn't work for me
I couldn't get it to work well on my Canon 6d. There was background hiss no matter what setting I had it on. On test clips it made my built in mic sound good.

Lightweight and Good Price Point
The media could not be loaded. I have better sound recording equipment but this doesn't seem bad based on the video. This purchase fills a niche where I am video recording bullet impacts. The microphone is lightweight, easy to use, and comes at a good price point. Light and easy to use makes it field use friendly. Cheap because a stray bullet or ricochet will easily end its useful life. It comes with the audio cable and the wind muff. The wind muff seems a little scant. I like the rubber support system. The battery cover says everything anyone would want to know about handling the device and the quality control that went into it -- cheap & flimsy. 4-stars because I didn't expect much. I got what I paid for.

Great stereo sound and sensitivity!
I have bought many camera microphones on Amazon, most of which I returned due to poor sound quality and weak recording signal. This one makes a crisp, clean recording that boosts the recording level. No hiss either. Very pleased!
