American FlyerLuggage Pemberly Buckles 5 Piece Set, Chocolate, One Size

I've had my eyes on this luggage set for a year or so and finally took the plunge. I wanted the green set. The price kept fluctuating and I finally got them for a really good deal here on Amazon for just over $100, when most other websites were selling them for $300-400! I thought these were more of a teal-green color but they're actually more like an emerald green color. I still love the color. The set is so nice, durable, and roomy! I kept comparing the dimensions against the carry-on requirements for most major airliners and I would be able to take 3 of these 5 bags as carry ons. I'm a family of 3.. one adult, two children... and the carry on bags plus the largest suitcase is more than enough for all of our stuff and bringing back souvenirs. Heading to Scotland soon so I will be taking full advantage of the extra space!Update: on the way back from Scotland, we had a layover in Washington DC. Something on their conveyer belt in DC was ripping everyone’s luggage or scratching the hard luggage! So I now have a 6” tear in the back of mine I’m going to have to cover with an iron on patch. So disappointed!! But EVERYONE’S luggage was ruined!! So keep that in mind when you buy your luggage… do you want a deep scratch or a tear that needs covered up when american airports destroy your luggage…

I received the set right before I had to go on an emergency trip, so got to try them out sooner than expected. I love the color (I bought the red), it's unique enough that it stands out on the baggage claim trestle and dark enough that, so far anyway, no dirt from handling shows. The construction is very good, inspected all bags when received and found nothing out of place. Was happy they provided plenty of keys for the locks and locks on each bag. I've had a problem for years with my luggage being "top heavy" and tipping over, I love the way these lean back just enough that I didn't have that problem now. All in all, very happy, hope they hold up to the abuse well, only time will tell on that.

I ordered this set for a number of reasons. First and foremost, my old suitcases were old and literally breaking apart. Also, I saw the the great reviews on this set and its fantastic sale price (as of now the price went up a bit to $157 from when I ordered it at $142). But regardless, considering its originally priced at $420, its definitely a steal. And once I ordered this set, I was very pleased with the super quick shipping: my package came a full week early than the beginning of the expected shipping period! I know this might not apply to everyone depending on location, but still! The luggage set arrived in one large box, with each smaller piece placed inside the larger one. When I opened the box I initially thought that they were sending the pieces one by one, but then realized they were all inside each other. I ordered my set in blue (there are other color options on other websites if you just give the title of the set a quick google search, like green and pink) and I have to say the color is really fantastic. I was originally nervous about ordering the set in blue instead of brown, because I thought it would be a little too flashy for me, but thank god I didn't. It's just the right shade of blue and yes it is metallic in that it does have a sheen to it, but nothing too over-the-top. It's just a lovely, respectable shade of blue. However, when the pieces arrived I was a little disappointed by the size of the suitcases. The first suitcase is a good size, and they all do expand, but the second suitcase is rather small and the third suitcase is tiny, basically the same size as an extra large backpack. While this might be ok for other travelers, I've never been one to travel light, so I do think I'll have to use additional luggage pieces when I do travel. Also, the fifth piece, the 'cosmetic satchel' is basically a purse. As a guy, its not something I would use, so instead I gave it to my mother as a belated Christmas gift instead. Of course, if any guy wanted to use the cosmetic satchel/purse, that'd be their decision. But still, in the picture of the set it didn't look like a purse to me, so I was annoyed that I had to give it away considering I paid for it in the set. I wish that would have been made more clear in the description or pictures. These qualms aside, I would still have this set a 4-star rating. The quality of the material is very, very nice. Much better than my previous suitcases, which was your standard K-Mart/Walmart suitcases. From the color to the detailing to the overall construction, you can tell it was made with excellent craftsmanship. If it weren't for the smaller size of the pieces and the inclusion of the purse (at least for me), I would have definitely have given this set a 5-star rating. I'm even thinking about buying a second set for the extra suitcases, even if I have to give away another purse!

This set is really a bargain for the price. It is different enough to stand out at the airport, but is not tacky. The variety of luggage sizes make packing for all different occasions much easier and the smallest toiletry bag is perfect for traveling with all necessities stored in their own compartments. I even fit full sized shampoo and conditioner bottles in the bag. The price is amazing for everything you get with this durable set. I would definitely recommend it.

BWEARE - PAPER THIN!!! I'm so disappointed because the green 5 piece is so pretty, and I travel frequently, but it is SO CHEAPLY MADE! The back of the suitcases - the side where the extendable handles slide in - is PAPER THIN. No support whatsoever. I opened the package 5 minutes ago, said F NO, and packaged it right back up. SO CHEAP!!! THE OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS ARE SPOT ON!! HOW DOES THIS SET HAVE SO MANY GOOD REVIEWS?!?

I bought this set in 2014 and thought, "hey, if I get a year out of them I'll be happy!"Now 6 years later, countless national trips, road trips, back and forth to Europe for work and these bags are still standing strong! I've OVERstuffed, beaten up, thrown around, and nothing is broken, the fabric is standing up, the zippers are MIRACLE workers, and the wheels are wheeling strong!Reviews I read before buying said the handles were weak, so I have tried to be semi-nice to them, but they are still intact and functioning! I bought straps to connect all the pieces together while travelling - putting all the weight on the largest suitcase and therefore it's handle.... and.... it's still working just fine!!Also, added bonus - the brown color is soooo easy to pick out of a million little black suitcases at the luggage claim!Great price - very happy with them!

I was a little disappointed that two of my handles were already starting to fall apart after my first trip, but apart from that they seem to be pretty good. For now anyways...
