Honestly the best part is that it was WAY CHEAPER than the replacement part from the manufacturer. But in addition, it was easy to cut and install. Now my pellet stove runs so clean and efficiently that the window doesn’t soot up and there is hardly any ash in the firebox at the end of the day. I am so pleased.

Used this to replace the back board on my Winchester biomass stove. So much cheaper than from the on line store. Use a sharp blade on your cutter and don't try to score and snap it.

It's a great ceramic insulating board, but it's 7.8125" wide. BXI should be tarred and feathered for not accounting for shrinkage if that's the reason, but no matter the reason it's not correct to misstated.Lots of people have made this complaint about it not being 8" wide, at the very least the seller needs to state in a prominent location the size is 7 13/16 NOT 8" wide.I'd have given 5 stars if they were realistic and accurate about the size of the product.For the record I've purchased three of these .8" and six of the .4" I've also ordered Lynn Manufacturing 20x20x3/4" and lastly a Simond Store1x18x24 I like them all. (The remnants not treated with Plistix 900F I marked and put aside as I intend to test the manufacturers ratings)To make these last, I coat the ceramic insulation boards, both soft and hard fire bricks with Plistix 900F, which is highly flux resistant.

Solid board, easy to cut to size, perfectly replaced the old board in our tabletop furnace. Would buy again.

Haven't used this yet as I need to take lessons on how to solder but block is solid.

The media could not be loaded. For my purposes, I don't use it for anything heavy duty like casting. It works extremely well for soldering and I was able to touch the back no problem right after heating, unlike most organic boards.... just stressing it's positive insulation properties.
