KONA French Press Filter 12 oz (2 Pack) Original 3-Cup Stainless Steel Reusable Replacement Mesh Screen

I originally bought the Kona French press over a year ago for my husband who is a coffee fanatic and wanted a more extensive at-home brew. I had no idea that most french press users double up on filters to eliminate even the tiniest grounds of coming through (I'm not a coffee drinker, how was I to know?). The first few times my husband used the french press to make coffee he really liked it, but complained relentlessly about the filter. I dutifully did some research on the best filters and tried about 3 different brands thinking it was just the Kona Coffee brand that had bad filters. Turns out, I was wrong. All the companies make the filters almost the exact same way! You just have to use two to get the best brew! I ended up ordering more from Idylic Homes because that's who the original press and filters came from, so I knew they would fit. They work like a charm, and I hear nothing but praise from my husband in regards to his coffee nowadays.The reason I'm giving this product a 5-star review is because of the follow-up customer service. When I originally ordered the french press I received several e-mails to make sure I had received the product, and it was in good condition. After purchasing the filters, I received another two e-mails again. I have never had to return any of their products, but would assume, based on customer service so far, that they would happily and conveniently work with a customer to complete satisfaction.

I bought this to be a backup to my usual press, and bought it in red because it was a fun color for my kitchen. That's where the fun stops. Made coffee in this press maybe 15 times. I'd remembered other reviewers mentioning the cracking glass and I thought perhaps it had been user error, so I was extra careful when washing it, and had not yet observed any cracks or issues with the glass. It shattered the other day without warning while the coffee was steeping, even before the plunger went down. Save your money and choose another press. Incidentally, I've been using my other press regularly for over five years and it's still doing just fine. Check your french press purchases to make sure it's pyrex glass - lesson learned.

This is an excellent filter at a very modest price. I have a 38 ounce Kona French Press that it fits perfectly. The filter itself is slightly different than the original filter with two different weaves in the filter rather than a single weave in the original. It is slightly stiffer than the original as well.I cannot say that this filter is better than the original because I have had no ground appearing in my coffe with this Kona press, but when I need another filter (in fact, two come in the package) this one is sure to be an excellent replacment with, again, no grounds appearing in my delicious coffee.I do have another French press that leaves a small amount of grounds, so I will put the extra filter to good use.I highly recommend this replacement filter.FIVE STARSSample provided for review

We’ve been using this French press for many years now. We like that it’s glass and doesn’t alter any flavor of the coffee. In the five years we’ve only had to replace the glass once (hence why we purchased this replacement). It cleans easily in the washing machine and is pretty sturdy when hand washing, just need to be aware of other heavy objects etc. We also appreciate that it comes with the extra filter. Nice bonus.

i am a usa citizen living full time in boquete, panama where some of the world's most delicious coffee is grown. we take our coffee seriously :)the original screen that came with my bodum was starting to wear down quite a bit even to the point of wire poking my fingers. did not have much hope of finding a quality screen.....until......i ordered these!!! yes!!! it is a fantastic product. i only drink coffee on sunday & today is my first use of your mesh screen. i can honestly say it is a great product. how do i know? well, my plunger slides easier than when it was new. very little gets past this fine mesh....i do mean little!! i look to the bottom of my cup & hardly any residue down there.this is a fantastic product & will rely on these screens from now on for replacement & will highly recommend.

So far so good. The screen that came with my Illy french press lasted for almost 8 years, so this product has a hard act to follow. (Also, the only reason the original failed is because I loaded it backward and jacked up the edges.)I can't rate this one for durability yet because of the above but it fits the press perfectly. It doesn't let enough sediment through (for those of us that like to chew our coffee) but as I thought about it, it's probably because the weave on the old one had loosened up over time. This one will get there.My only concern is that the original had a metal ring at the center. This one does not. My concern is that it will fray as the weave loosens up, and will let actual grounds through and not just sediment. Not having the ring at the center almost seems like a defect so if the distributor reads this review, perhaps you could respond to this component. Otherwise, it seems to be not only a cost-cutting measure but one that also potentially reduces the lifespan of the product.

I purchased these for my Francois et Mimi stainless steel 34oz french press and they fit perfectly. Previously I had purchased a Bodum replacement which had a ring in the center that I had to remove with pliers before it would fit. These also seem to be better constructed than the Bodum filter which was frayed and pokey at the edges, and these are not. They are not difficult to press, but seem to paradoxically allow through less sediment, not more, which is great. Finally you can't go wrong with the price, literally a quarter of what I paid for the Bodum filter. It's an excellent product.
