A boon for those of us staying in multistoried buildings ...
A boon for those of us staying in multistoried buildings. Installation was a bit of a pain but once you get the hang of it its bliss. No more running up and down the stairs to check on the water and no more burnt pumpsets. If only the company would make the manual a bit more detailed. It took my electrician some weeks and a lot of emails to the company to install it. Please include a detailed manual with the controller otherwise its well built and works flawlessly so far. I was so impressed that in fact I bought another one for my other pumpset.

Maintains water-level in my tank; but failed once
** Purpose **● The purpose of this device is to- Know water levels in the sump as well as in over-head tank- Automatically turn on pump when water has gone empty in over-head tank- Automatically turn off pump before water overflows from over-head tank- Automatically turn off pump when water has run out in sump● This will work only with pumps that can be turned on by a Single Switch or MCB● This will not control the pump that fills the sump** Build & Finish **● The case is metal and coated in white paint. Its around 6 x 4 x 2 inches in dimensions● There is a Power On switch on a side of the device, and a Manual/Auto operation toggle switch● There are red LED indicators for Power, Voltage, Dry Run and Motor On● There are 4 levels for over-head tank and 3 levels for sump, which are indicated by LEDs● The device feels strong & sturdy; but the printing, calibration and LEDs are mediocre● There is a User Manual that describes the operation as well as installation instructions with pictures** Installation **● These are the pre-requisites, which you may have already installed- Overhead tank- Sump- Pump that fills overhead tank from the sump- Manual switch to turn the motor On● I would suggest to get this installed by an electrician since this involves some wiring; I did it on my own though!● There are four mains wires and 9 sensor wires available on the controller● This can be installed in such a way that you may byepass the controller if needed. It is useful in case the Controller fails and you may need to use your pump. The blue pair of wires should be connected to the existing motor switch and the red & black wires to power mains. In this way, the motor can be turned on via the controller as well as manually using the Mains Pump Switch● You need to run 7 sensor wires to the overhead tank and 4 sensor wires to the sump. The wires to the tank & sump are sensor wires, and all other wires are for 230V. I bought rainbow ribbon cable for sensor wires● 6 sensors need to be installed inside the overhead tank for 5 water levels and the 6th one for dry run. I fixed screws at lengths 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% & 100% on a half inch pvc pipe of length equal to the tank-depth. This pipe was then vertically fixed inside the overhead tank. Another screw was fixed on water inlet pipe inside the tank. The six sensor wires to overhead tank was then connected to these screws. This will then sense the water level in tank and dry run of motor● In the same way, 4 sensors were fixed at levels 0%, 35%, 65% & 100% inside the sump. This will sense the water level of sump. You have to take care that 0% here should be just above the water out pipe level** Performance **● When turned On, there is a delay of around 2 to 3 seconds before which the controller lights up. The LEDs will light up to show the water level in the tank and sump● Fully Automatic Operation: Automatically Turn On and Turn Off the motor- To work everything automatically, the Manual/Auto switch should be in Auto position. If water level in tank is at the lowest level, pump will start working. Pump will be turned off automatically when the water in tank is full or water in sump runs out- Power to pump will also be cut if water is not flowing into the overhead tank (for reasons like a defective pump or a leak that prevents water from reaching the tank)- In this mode, you cannot turn the pump on if tank water level is not at the lowest level. For this, you may use the Mains Pump Switch to turn the motor on● Semi Automatic Operation: Manually Turn On the motor and automatically Turn it Off- Toggle the Manual/Auto switch to Manual. Motor will start working irrespective of the water levels- Once motor starts working, move the switch to Auto. Motor will automaticall turn off based on water levels- I follow Semi Automatic operation. I dont keep the the controller On always. I turn it On to check the water levels and if I think its time to fill up, turn the motor on and then forget about it. Controller will take care of the rest** I don't like these **● The LEDs are too bright and is very annoying to look at if the ambient light is low● I have desired for an alarm to sound based on water levels or when the pump stops working. For eg., if it beeped when the sump water level is at full, I could turn the sump pump off before it overflows. In this way, this controller could also be used to manually control my sump as well** Value for Money **● This has saved me from one of my biggest menace where the overhead tank overflows onto my roof. I need not keep on monitoring whether the motor is running dry as well. This also helps me to relieve that there is enough water in the tank as well as in the sump● I bought this directly from RMG for Rs.2947/- in Feb-16● Since I could not find a similar device anywhere till I compose this, I could not compare the price. I am happy with the performance and I rate FIVE stars** Update after 2 months: Apr-16 **● The device stopped working a fine morning; the power indicator was not turning on. I sent an email at support and was told to ship to them. Shipping cost me around Rs.100 and I got a replacement under warranty● It took less than a week for the overall process and the time period is quite impressive● It failed on a weekday and I uninstalled it on a Sunday. I got the new piece after a week and I fixed back the next Sunday. Once you are used to an automatic controller and when you don't have it for a couple of weeks, it really make you unhappy. The chore of re-fixing this is a real crossword-matching since you have to remember & manage more than 15 wires● Considering all the above, I take one star off on the failure and re-rate to FOUR stars** Update after one year: Feb-17 **● Its now doing its job well and I also see that the price has gone up considerably over one year. I stick with my rating of FOUR stars.

I bought 2 of these. Worked for few months and stopped working. All lights remain red regardless of water levels. I checked the cable, connections etc. I tried the second unit, This worked for few months and had the same problems.I emailed the company asking about the issue and possible causes and ways to repair. No response.Expensive mistake to buy 2 of these.

Go for it if you are looking for level indicator and controller
Amazing product which does exactly what it claims. The dry run feature is interesting.Pros:All round good qualityCame tested. So had no faulty functionsA simple manual (leaflet) was attachedSize (pretty small than it appears here)Cons:Text on instruction leaflets is too smallWhen motor is force "switched on" in manual mode, it should keep the motor running until the tank gets fully filled. But currently it turns off the motor as soon as we switch back to Automatic even though the tank is not full

Total waste of money
I bought it for about 4K two years back in advance as I was to start plumbing work for my new home. The unit produces humming sound which is annoying. It worked only for 2-3 months but it's transformer burnt. As warranty period was over I got it repaired from local Electronic guy. Again it worked for about 2-3 months and now this product is totally scrap.2 stars are only for the concept design. You can go for low cost products with limited features.
