The Pout-Pout Fish

We are obsessed with this book. Usually my toddler wants to read it multiple times a week. Super catchy and fun to read even. A top book in our library. Pictures are entertaining and the words are super clever and playful. I think it also helps expand vocabulary with how it uses certain words.

Great little book for a new ‘reader’ Story time is fun.

Very cute book. Love to read it to my grandkids. My oldest daughter read it to her kids all the time. My oldest grandson is now an elite swimmer.

Everything a children’s book should be! Fun to read, rhyming, and with a great story!

I couldn’t have chosen a better book for my 9 month old. As soon as I read the book using the pout pout fish voice she died of laughter. She’s never laughed at a book as much as she did today. I’m highly impressed. You really have to be in character when reading this one, it’s soooo fun!

This has quickly become my son’s favorite book. Board book quality is great and the story is fun to read (even the third time in a row). I have purchased this for every expectant mother I know since I received it! Love that there are additional mini books for bedtime and holidays. I also saw they’re making it a movie in 2026!

My 1.5 yo daughter loved it the first time I read it and keeps asking me to read the book, saying "pout pout." Such cute book where pout pout grouchy fish becomes a happy fish at the end :D

Fun story with an important message, great illustrations, a good one for parents who like to do all the voices! The pout pout fish has become a synonym in our house for being grumpy!

I bought this book on a whim as it appears in a lot of recommended reading lists for young children. It’s an excellent read, so much fun and always brings a smile to my 1 year olds face when I shower him with kisses at the end. Lots of opportunities for the reader to put on their best pouty voice and get involved in the story! I have read some negative feedback regarding this encouraging lack of consent behaviour on a different forum. (All a bit OTT if you ask me) No I’m sorry I just don’t get that perspective at all. Highly recommend!
