Makes porridge - but looks like a Laurel & Hardy episode - a disaster
45g of porridge oats, 200ml of milk. Open valve on lid. 2.30 mins in the microwave and 5 minutes of clearing up the mess and most of my breakfast is now blasted into the inside walls of the micro.Sadly this does not work for porridge which is annoying as the advert shows porridge in it.Man on the moon = YesMicrowave porridge without Laurel and Hardy levels of mess = NoDon't bother buying it.

Not exactly as described
I bought this because I microwave my oats and was tired of have to keep an eye out to prevent any leakage - which any microwaved-porridge-connoisseur would know is the biggest pain in the world. It seems simple. Add porridge and milk, click the top into position, and then push the air vent down to let some steam out during the microwaving process. However, 2m 30s I was facing the same problems. It actually looked worse as it was popping and coming out through the sides. In the end, I'm just using it as a large porridge bowl. 3 stars for at least being good at that.

Not great for porridge sadly, may have other uses?
I really like the idea of having a bowl which I can cook and eat porridge from - saves on the washing up!Firstly, I cannot fathom how their supplied recipe could possibly create any form of edible porridge. 1/2 cup of oats and 1/4 cup of milk turns out like a hard flapjack, such a tiny amount of milk!Increasing the amount of milk to create something which actually resembles porridge tends to lead to spillage whilst cooking.I can't recommend this bowl for cooking porridge at all! I did cook some scrambled eggs in it and they turned out okay!It does feel sturdy and well made, and the lid clips on nicely. The inside of the bowl became quite scratched after using a metal spoon, not a big issue to me but just something to mention.I contacted their customer services to ask a question and didn't ever hear back, take from that what you will!

Well Made - Not That Cheap
Weirdly these things seem to be a bit of a 'thing.' And as such the price is fairly steep for what is essentially a small amount of plastic. However, to counter that I have to say that these are well made and work very well indeed.I use mine for lunch. I do so in order to avoid eating rubbish which, is pretty easy to do where I work overseas. Instead I make a whole load of frozen soups from actual real things like vegetables....and then take one to work each day.I simply defrost in this bowl and then heat up. Simples. The design keeps the soup inside as long as I'm not chucking it around and it's perfect for microwave use.Easy to clean and easy to store. So, it might be a bit expensive for what it is, but it's well made and so far mine has lasted me over a year of regular use and still cleans up perfectly.

Porridge made easy
Once you sorted out how long your porridge need to cook these porridge makers are fantastic. Just put your porridge and milk into the porridge maker and leave the vent open. Take note of the instructions of how long to microwave for and just listen . When you hear a little hiss from the porridge maker when it starts to boil over, switch off. After a couple of times you will suss out the timing of your microwave and type of porridge and then it’s easy. I always leave my Porridge for good five minutes before eating and it is perfect

easy to clean and really large if you want to ...
The cost of this was saved in one week buy not buying ready made porridge from the canteen and not buying sachets but Flanaghans microwave oats. Systema offer a wide range of products and I've got a few of them so this is a welcome addition.Safe to use and handle, easy to clean and really large if you want to use it for pasta. Don't add honey/sugar or use it heat up anything that might have sugar added as it will mark.

Great for individual porridge portions
I usually make the two minute "Oatso Simple" porridge, and have usually found it a bit of a nuisance once the porridge is done, because I've often had to allow extra time, and the bowl has been too hot to take out of the microwave and then dish up the porridge into another bowl. I purchased this breakfast bowl because it is perfect due to the handle, and I only ever cook one portion anyway. I measured the oats and the milk according to what it said on the packet and stirred them together, and then I snapped the lid on and opened the vent, and microwaved them for 2 minutes. I allowed it to stand for just over a minute for the cooking process to finish, and when I opened the lid I was delighted to find that the porridge was exactly how I like it, without me having to do any extra stirring or adding extra cooking time - and without any hint of spillage. Not only that, but due to the handle I was able to easily take it out of the microwave and eat it straight from the bowl, thus saving on washing up!! I think it's a great product if you adapt the way you use it to suit your individual needs.

Simply great! Handle makes all the difference
I simply love these microwave bowls (and most things in the Sistema range). I know it says "breakfast bowl", but I use it for everything - breakfast porridge, leftover food, instant noodles, and even cooking sweetcorn (mini cobs). The thing I love most about it is the handle. Before I bought this, I used other containers and bowls, but the biggest problem I always had was holding the super hot bowl afterwards. With this, the handle stays completely cool and makes the container easy to transport and even hold while eating straight out of it.
