I love my Vivosmart 4
I’ve had my Garmin Vivosmart 4 Activity and Fitness Tracker for a year now and I LOVE it, so I decided to buy an additional one for my mom.I’ve read reviews that say there are issues with connecting the Garmin to the phone and updating the app, but I haven’t had any issues with that on either of our Vivosmart 4s. Connecting my phone the first time was a little bit confusing on the first Garmin (mine – I’m 53), but I was able to figure it out and begin using it in about 20 minutes. My 13 year old son set up my mom’s in just 2-3 minutes, so he thought it was really easy. I guess it just depends on how tech savvy you are.I use mine to track a BUNCH of things: my Steps, Walking Miles (which I have set to auto start), my Sleep, Sleep Pulse Ox, my Calories (tracks resting calories, active calories, and total calories), my weekly Intensity Minutes, Body Battery, Stress Level, Heart Rate, Floors Climbed, and I log my Water Intake. This is the perfect device for how I use it and it is easy to use once set up.I also really like the “Challenges” on the device as it helps to keep me motivated to achieve each new Challenge Badge (45 earned so far).I also should mention that when I charge my device, it lasts about 3.5 days before I need to recharge it (it is important to note that I get about 3.5 days use with the Sleep Pulse Ox ON before needing to recharge the device – you should get longer use if the Sleep Pulse Ox is turned to OFF). The charger is easy to use and Vivosmart vibrates once it starts charging. It also shows on the face of the tracker when it is charging.I really like that the band is narrow and I find it to be very comfortable. Although the face is narrow, there are a variety of ways to set it up. I normally wear glasses and I can read the time without my glasses on with the large time setting I’ve selected.Like I said in the beginning of this review, I LOVE this product for how I use it.

Too many bells and whistles
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a basic fitness tracker for my heart rate, exercise classes, calorie counter, vibration alarm and sleep. The app has way too many options including challenges (community based), activities (which are basic and don’t include HIIT), workouts (video workouts you can do at home) and more. It’s hard to find what you are looking for with so many features available. It took me 5 min to find how to set the alarm (which is not avail to do on your watch-has to be on the app). Even the watch face is so small that the time is split. The watch is difficult to navigate to the fitness portion and you have to know the symbols to select each workout. See video. I figured garmin would be good, but guess I need a basic fitbit.

great tracker
I love Garmin products! They have a long life span, they provide lots of information, that you don't have to pay an additional monthly fee to access, and are very comfortable to wear.

Pulse Ox accuracy
I purchased the Vivosmart to monitor pulse ox. I have asthma and frequently present with low pulse ox. After using the Vivosmart for about two weeks I have the following observations:1. Sleep monitoring - I am pleased with the pulse ox monitoring while you sleep. I'd like to be able to extend the duration (currently limited to 4 hours). I believe it gives one a good general idea of what is going on as you sleep.2. Accuracy - I compared the Vivosmart to a Zacurate 500DL finger tip pulse ox monitor. When comparing reading at random I found significant differences in readings (3%+/-). So I did a controlled comparison. Sitting still, using the finger tip pulse ox monitor on the index finger of my right hand, and using the Vivosmart on the same wrist, I ran 10 separate tests. Under those controlled conditions, I found the readings between the Vivosmart and the Zacurate 500 DL very close - generally about 1% (mean difference in readings = 1.3, standard deviation = 0.8).3. Observations - I believe the reason I found frequent differences in random readings between the Vivosmart and the Zacurate 500DL is that I was too casual in making the comparison. It appears that the Vivosmart needs to be snug on your wrist, and you must be sitting still through the reading process. Moving around during measurement process leads to inconsistent readings. This is something to bear in mind when looking at the sleep pulse ox data. I have observed similar variance in the sleep data (1%+/-) as occur during readings taken sitting still, however, when movement increases (which the watch measures) the variation in pulse ox increases.Overall - I think performance is great. It makes it easy to monitor my asthma - when occasionally pulse ox drops to 90% or less - and I require my inhaler. Since is it is such a small and light band - it is easy to keep on during the day and sleep with.

Bought this for my daughter to track her fitness level and she can’t stop talking about how great this watch is. She is able to track her sleep pattern along with other features. Product arrived earlier than expected. Very pleased 😀

Don't buy it "RENEWED"
The battery was dead out of the box, wouldn't charge and overheated. Returned for a refund.
