Good for viewing small things out on hikes.
I use this on my hiking trails. Always coming across something new and I like to see it up close - well unless it's a snake or skunk! Works great, love the little light feature. Comes in nice leather case.

Pleasantly surprised!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------21July'18 Update:I acquired a Bausch & Lomb 10x Hastings triplet loupe for direct a-b comparison, and my verdict, after extensive trials is that there is very little to no difference in image quality.Sometimes the this $17 unit seems a tad better, sometimes the B&L seems a tad better - you have to hold both units EXACTLY the same way and look at exactly the same, tiniest details you can find to even have a chance of seeing any difference.I would say this inexpensive lighted unit is easily 98 - 100% as good as the B&L. The B&L is smaller and lighter - since it doesn't have lights, batteries and switches etc - and sometimes that makes it a bit easier to use, IF you don't need the light just then.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I don't have a Zeiss, Nikon, or B&L loupe to do a direct comparison, but just using this alone, the image looks very sharp; with a wide, flat field of view - essentially all the way out to the edge!No color fringing that I see.(I will do a comparison with a pricey loupe first chance, and update this review).Magnification appears to be a full 10x. Any more power, I'd rather use a microscope.The 6 white LED's are definitely useful...AND (huh?) the unit is better than described, in that 7 UV led's are fitted, not 1 as stated in the description and other reviews; 6 around the periphery of the lens, and one off to the side. Go figger.The build quality looks good; the unit seems heavy and solid, and opens with a stiff, viscous feel - which makes it easier to use. Does NOT look at all like it will fall apart anytime soon, as has been stated elsewhere - so the problems there must have been dealt with.Even the leather case is decent enough to be useful and desirable, looks like it might have a reasonably long life....and delivery was FAST....Recommended!

Works well, but it also has some sharp edges
The optics and illumination are top-notch, but the edges of the metal were not completely deburred and softened. As a result, I received a small cut. The case is also very good.

a novice with this loupe
I got this loupe to look at my fountain pen nibs. This is an extremely nice loupe. Sorry this review is a little wasted because I am not an expert about these loupes. The magnification is real good. It is small has uv/ led lights. Be sure to switch off after using. Comes with a leather case, which is worth the price. Better than some I have bought a while back. I believe you will get good results.

Works great
The magnifying glass is very well-made and works very well. Love the little leather case that it fits into. I would recommend this magnifying glass to anyone.

good magnification
My hand is a little shaky in the pics but in real life the magnification is really good. I took a picture of the penny with the regular LED light and another picture of some ruby in (zoisite?) with the UV light. I don't think I'm going to put my eye directly on the hand lens with the UV light on but the LED light works really well.

Yes, the 10X Triplet I have been wanting for years
Nice tight pivoting cover, so it does not expose optic in your pocket. Also nice snap close leather case. Also full three-quarter inch clear aperture with distortion-free correction over the whole field of view. Good correction of chromatic aberration, no residual color fringing. Best of all is the six LED ring light so you can see the object under observation and notice the excellent optical quality. The UV LED is more like violet but is still useful. Chinese optics keeps getting better and better.

Super optische und habdwerkliche Qualität.
Sehr präzise Lupe mit hellem LED-Licht, ideal für botanische und faunistische Bestimmungsarbeit und weitere Einsatzzwecke. Hervorragende optische Abbildungsqualität. Sauber in schönem Lederetui verpackt. Das einschlagen der Lupe ist nur nach einer Seite möglich, ohne den Lichtschalter zu betätigen. Hier sollte man aufmerksam sein, sonst ist die Batterie bis zur nächsten Anwendung leer. 😊 👍🏻 Preis /Leistung ist top!
