Works well, kids love it, but no subtitles
I was so hoping I could use these as a new addition to my listening centers. Animated stories with subtitles or Scholastic's Read-Along features would have been amazing, but these DVDs do not come with subtitle files, so they're not available. For me, it was a major let-down, which was why one star was taken off, but I'll get great use out of these! I have some of the books, so I can pop them into my listening centers along with the animated movie. It's just not the same as having the words on the screen.

If you have kids this is a must!
If you have kids this is a must! You get 20 books that have been animated. My 3 year old and 5 year old were so fascinated with this. We have since bought many of the scholastic dvds. One thing we did was also get the books from the library to tie in the book to the "show".

As a second-grade teacher, I find the entire line of Scholastic Story Time read-along books to be an excellent and entertaining use of media to encourage literacy skills and familiarity with high frequency words!

They have moving pictures and the narrator is easy to understand
My students have been very engaged with the stories. They have moving pictures and the narrator is easy to understand. Works very well for my Listening to Reading center, although it does not have words to go along with the story so that my students can follow along. Although they could use a copy of the book if it is available.
