I am very impressed. This is the first conditioner bar I have ever used. First, I shampooed my hair with the St. Clemens bar and rinsed thoroughly. Then, I used this bar to condition by first wetting it then running it over my wet hair. At first I didn’t think it was working because you can’t really see it in the hair like liquid conditioner. But then I felt it.l; it gave my hair very nice skip and it melted my tangles so easily. I could easily run my hands and a wide tooth comb through my hair. I didn’t use much either. I left the conditioner in my hair for a few minutes while I showered. Then, I rinsed. My hair still felt moisturizer and soft after rinsing. Afterwards, I didn’t even need a leave in conditioner.I have lots of curly 3c hair that is classic to top of thigh length. I typically don’t write reviews on hair products but this was impressive. I typically go through so much conditioner to detangle my hair but this bar still looks like it hasn’t been used. I also like that the smell is very mild. I am sensitive to smells and hate the strong scent of most conditioners. I actually prefer unscented stuff.I was hesitant to buy these bars due to the price but I think this bar is going to last a very long time. I can easily go through a bottle or two of liquid conditioner in a month. So, it’s money well spent. In the end I will be saving money instead of spending money on conditioner every month.

I agonized over this product because even though I wanted to make a change away from bottled shampoos and conditioners the price just seemed too high. When it arrived I was even more worried because the bar was a lot smaller than I expected. However. Three days in and my hair looks amazing and lore smooth than ever. And no problems with tangles. I have long hair- past my shoulders. It doesn’t bubble up, and I couldn’t get enough on my hands, so the third day I actually smoothed the bar right into my hair and it worked well. I can we now the bar will actually last quite a while because it’s so compact and concentrated and not much is needed to get the job done. Now that I’ve tried the conditioner I’m ready to give the shampoo a chance as well. Great product.

I love the concept of a product that does not need plastic packaging. This comes in a small cardboard box. It may seem expensive but it lasts a very long time. Now that I've been using it a while, here are my comments: 1. Works well - leaves my hair soft 2. Not easy to apply. I rub the bar between my hands and get a little bit rub it in my hair, rub the bar again get a little bit more. It takes time. The downside to that it's two things. First I spend more time in the shower using more water and second I find about twice as much hair in the drain. All that rubbing over and over seems to be making me lose more hairMy suggestion is to take the bar and set it in some water in a silicone container until it melts into a liquid and then it will be much easier to use and eliminate the issues above

It made my hair so smooth and silky, was also perfect for my daughter hair. Unfortunately and I don’t know why this one has been discontinued. I tried a different one but it wasn’t as good as this one. Very sad

This is good at detangling hair, but it isn’t very good at moisturizing long hair ends.

Update:Nearly 5 years later and I still absolutely LOVE this! BTW, the bar lasts for MONTHS (two people washing/conditioning every other day).Original Review:I wasn't sure what to expect with this b/c the Lush conditioners were such a HUGE disappointment, but the little ethique detangler is SO GOOD!I have very fine (but thick), straight hair that tangles SO easily, but also gets weighed down by most “hydrating” and “moisturizing” conditioners. This bar is so awesome, though! I end up with soft, tangle-free hair, that isn’t greasy or weighed down.FYI though, it doesn’t feel like it’s doing anything when you apply it and you’ll wonder if you even got any of the product on your hair, but that’s normal with solid conditioners without all the extra crap in them and just takes a couple tries to get used to.

I love this product for my curly hair. It is too bad the company is discontinuing making it. I love it and I am so glad I found a couple of more bars to use!!

I bought this product for myself and not for a child. I appreciate that it is mild and unscented. It leaves my hair feeling soft and conditioned after using the shampoo bar. It is very light and doesn't leave my hair weighed down or oily. This bar is much better than the travel size conditioner bars. I couldn't really get anything off of those and they felt like a waste. So, if you're thinking about trying ethique, especially the conditioner, I recommend getting full size instead of travel size.

Light fresh scent. There is a trick to using the shampoo and conditioner bars. It depends on your hair type. Mine is thick, fine, and wavy, with curls in back. Most of the time I use Curlosity and Professor Curl, but this one is a quick wash. So for me, I have to soap up my hand and apply it in sections to my scalp then massage it in. Then rinse really well. To apply it as a conditioner….soap up my hands and apply it to ends then massage it in a bit, let it sit for up to 2 minutes or just rinse out right away as a cream rinse style. Both work. You need to experiment a bit to see what works best for your hair type. This is nice as an all over gentle bar. Thank you
