Very Best of

All tracks on this "The Very Best of The Ames Brothers" are simply marvelous!!! I remember many of the hits from the 1950's, hearing them on radio and Ed Sullivan Show, Arthur Godfrey Show too. The biography written by Colin Scott was really awesome too. Worth every penny, so glad I bought this CD. I still can sing along with some of the hits too.

I was listening to an oldies station while sitting on my porch swing back in 2007 on a nice cool winter's night listening to "You, You, You" by the Ames Brothers and "In the Misty Moonlight" by Jerry Wallace. All the Ames Brothers songs are nice and catchy including "My Bonny Lassy" and "Melody Da More" "I Saw Easaw" is a little bit funny and it is a tung twister. This song will make you laugh and smile when you hear them sing "I got the saw and sawed him right off that seasaw". Worth the price of the CD. It took me ten years to get around to looking for this CD and I wished I'd done it straight after I heard their songs on the radio. This CD only contains their RCA cuts. Their Decca sides are available elsewhere, but then there is overlap as there are new multi- label compilations available from Acrobat and Jazzman Music in the UK. This now out of print piece from Teragon of Long Island is one of the best overviews of their career and contains all the well known hits of the Ames Brothers. It includes an 8 page booklet and great remastered sound, lisenced from Sony Music.

After changing record label to rca, the Ames brothers never missed a beat. You, you, you, the naughty lady of shady lane, melodie d’amour,and Tammy, are just four of the twenty songs made popular by the brothers in the second phase of their career. If you are a fan of vocal harmony groups(of which the Ames brothers were among the very best) get this set, while it’s still available..

Great music selection. Great vocal blends. This one even arrived without a crack in the case! We are really glad to have this to add to our collection of music we enjoy listening to and sharing with others. We are going to have to order another one because it is great for listening to in the car and we fight over it.

Good album. Loaded the music into my computer iTunes Library and into my cell phone. The cell phone provides music played in alphabetical order by song title on the car radio when I am out of reach of my favorite radio stations. This music fits in very well and includes some of my lifetime favorite songs.

Although this is the very best of The Ames Brothers. it does not cover alll their major hits such as Ragmop a number 1 hit. The quality of the music is very good and this is probably the best of the compilations.

Another great selection. All 3 of the Ames Bros. CD's are excellent
