Perfect in every way
The Theo Bookcase checks all the boxes for me. I shopped and compared a dozen different "ladder" syle, wall-mounted bookshelves before choosing this one. I liked this one because it has 6 shelves, compared to five shelves on most. It is 30" wide compared to 23" wide (or less) on most shelves offered. The most important feature I needed was the ability to clear the baseboard heating unit, which it does easily by 3"-4".I got this for our small vacation home that doesn't have a lot of extra space to place furniture, but I MUST have a place to keep my books! And because the few available spaces have the baseboard heat I want to be careful what I put in front of them. This shelf unit fits the available space perfectly and feels very secure with the frame screwed into the wall at the top. I also really like the all-white unit as it blends in with the white wall, making a cleaner uncluttered look. The finish on the shelves is very smooth and nice (and no worries, the plant on the top shelf has a padded mat under it!)The box is heavy so it helps to have two people to lift and carry it. After that the assembly can easily be done by one person and is very simple and straightforward. You might want two people again at the wall mounting stage so that one person can hold the unit in place while the other checks the level and marks for the wall screws, and then holds it in place for screwing in the brackets.I can't overstate how happy I am with the Theo bookcase! It is exactly what I envisioned.

Aesthetically pleasing
It appears sturdy, but the anchors were kind of cheap. Do yourself a favor and buy good anchors. Easy to assemble and great customer service.

Well worth the price. Customer service next to none.
Simply put, I love this unit and feel that I got more than I paid for.Assembly is super simple. If you are a veteran at IKEA assembly... then these units would take you 20 minutes. If you are assembling the piece with the drawers... it takes perhaps twice as long. Drawers can be a pain to assemble. If you are planning to create a full wall of shelving using a combination of the 5 shelf units and the drawer units like I did... be aware that the shelf depth on both units are different. For some odd reason the shelves on the 5 shelf units are about 1/2" deeper than the shelves provided with the drawer unit. You can see the offset from the photo I posted. If you have the right number of units, you may be able to shuffle around shelves to have them all line up.Product of course isn't solid wood but it looks very nice. The veneer looks wonderful but is rather soft so you have to be a little careful about assembly and about usage. It scratches easily. It's perfectly fine as a display shelf though. While the product is packaged well, the weight can pose a situation where shipping damage is a real possibility. I had 3 of my 5 units come damaged through shipping. That said, contacting the company to resolve the issue couldn't have been a better experience. Claire made sure to ship out replacements for the damaged and missing parts quickly. No questions asked.I got what I paid for and then some.

Pretty bookshelf
I got this because I wanted a set of shelves over a section of wall with baseboard heating. These are just tall enough to fit over the baseboards. They look nice and seem strong and sturdy. I will warn you, you cannot possibly assemble this alone. Requires two people and some patience, but well worth the effort.

Great, with a few caveats
We have an interesting, awkward corner in our children’s bedroom that needed sleek, compact solutions that weren’t too clunky: enter these shelves. It’s a two-person job to put them together and install them safely. And without a tiny hand drill, getting the screws into the wall behind the supports isn’t a fun job.We stripped the screws with a standard drill on the first installed set of shelves and had to use pliers to screw them into the wall the rest of the way, which damaged the powder coating paint on the supports (second photo). But I’ve since painted over it and it looks fine now.I’d say my main gripe is the price fluctuations of the shelving units. My review will likely be rejected if I mention the prices we paid for the two units, but let’s just say the first unit we bought 1.5 weeks~ prior to the second were both priced higher than the other color options, however, we wanted to go with all white as to offer that awkward corner a more open, less cluttered feel and not draw attention to the shelving units themselves. When the kids’ toys still didn’t have a proper organizational solution, we decided (the same day) to order another unit for the rest of their toys; only the price had jumped $40.Annoyed, I just added it to the cart and lined their toys along the windowsill temporarily, and decided to monitor the cost every day.It fluctuated often, and finally when it dropped down to $12 more than what we originally paid, I said “screw it” and just bought the second unit.I can’t stand the price fluctuations… I just want an honest, set price, as I’m sure most buyers do too.Otherwise, these are a great storage solution that look nice and are pretty sturdy. The bolted down shelves do rock a little with applied weight, but they’re seemingly not at risk of snapping off.The welds are all solid and well done, and the powder coating was a nice touch that adds to the overall quality. Each shelf would be considered heavy by most people, so be sure to at least have one stronger person helping with assembly and installation to avoid injury or damaging the floor or unit itself.

Beautiful
I’m so happy I decided to purchase this shelf. It was super easy to install by myself and it looks great. Including unpacking it, it took me roughly 20 mins to install each shelf. I also purchased the Nathan James desk to go alongside it. The shelves are not real wood but a laminated MDF which I don’t mind cause there still really sturdy. If you mount the shelf in a stud you will be fine but if not I don’t recommend using the screws and plugs they provide as there small and crappy. I personally used metal plugs and the shelf isn’t going anywhere. The price is pretty high for this product not to have real wood shelves but I totally recommend this product.

Stunning
Looks stunning especially after adding lights. It is quite low so I installed it on top an Ikea tv unit.

Beautiful, Well Build, Sturdy Theo Bookcase
I recently purchased their 5-shelf Theo Bookcase from Amazon.ca (sold from UrbanInspirations - a 3rd party company) only to have the bookcase arrive with shelves dinged and with scrapes over them. I called the Nathan James customer service directly, spoke with a super helpful, friendly rep named Leyla. She immediately took action, found a replacement bookshelf from Wayfair and help ship it to me free of cost. AND I didn't need to pay to return the damaged bookcase. She then followed up multiple times via email to ensure everything was ok, and that I received the replacement bookcase. Could not have been happier with their customer service.Re the bookcase, its GORGEOUS. Crazy easy to build (built it by myself in under 30 mins). Does not require to be nailed into the wall studs, it comes with drywall screws. Its modern and super sturdy. I ended up buying a second I liked it so much.

Easy to build
The bookcases were easy to build and actually look very nice and modern. The only problem is, one of the bookcases wasn't as well put together as the other three (I ordered four) and was damaged (metal scratched/grooved at the side of one of the shelves), which was such a shame, as they were not cheap.

Look great just about anywhere!
I like that they have a narrow footprint and look great in any setting! However, I am careful to place books in the middle of the shelves (not all the way to the back or to the front), to center the weight with the vertical bars. Otherwise, I feel that it could break. It is not super strong, but then the price is just right for what you get. As long as one is mindful of balance, it works very well and looks great!
