Simon & Schuster Mega Crossword Puzzle Book #12 (12)

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my Father, who is an avid lover of crossword puzzles. He enjoys crosswords that have a higher level of challenge and this was perfect! While searching for a book to get for him, it was important to me that I find one with enough content to keep him busy for a while - as he tends to go through them very quickly, as well as trying to avoid a book with puzzles he might have already done in the past. Crossword Puzzle books that are filled with new and challenging content are becoming harder and harder to find, so I was very happy to find this! I have since purchased quite a few of the Simon & Schuster crossword puzzle books for him, and they always deliver! He has never been disappointed and often comments on how much he enjoys them! The larger print is great for him, and the variety in the range of difficulty is fantastic! I highly recommend this and other crossword puzzle books from Simon & Schuster!

I have had about nine of this series and I’m never disappointed. They’re not real easy and challenging enough hold your interest. I find a few very difficult but mostly I finish them. I do all the right sides first then I return to page one and begin the backs but tearing them out for ease. It also grants the opportunity to review side one and often finish it. The perforations always work.

Great for puzzle lovers. I buy them all in sequence as I use them up.

This is my fourth book in this series – I’m working my way backwards from book #15. You get 300 puzzles with a wide range of styles and difficulty levels. There’s 75 15x15 puzzles, 75 17x17, 50 19x19, and 100 21x21. There are both themed and unthemed puzzles, and tons of fun trivia. If I’m feeling tired and a little “brain dead” then I choose the easier puzzles near the front of the book. But when I’m feeling a little more rested and confident, then I choose more difficult puzzles towards the back. Print is large with plenty of space to fill in letters. Pages are perforated so I can tear out a few puzzles to put in my purse before I head out the door. This book is both fun and challenging, and I recommend it for any crossword lover.

I’ll start by saying what I didn’t like: the answers for some of these puzzles are pretty outdated, so solving them was difficult at times. I also hated that it was double sided because I could barely write in my answers - even with a crease! I just started skipping the puzzles on the back of the page. But, I liked how many puzzles you get with the book - which is one of the main reasons why I purchased it! I haven’t noticed any errors so far, and I thought the font was a good size!

I love these particular puzzles because there are those which are pretty easy, those that are a challenge and those that I cannot resolve on my own - because it seems that they are composed by younger folks who reference a lot of celebrities, books, movies, etc. of which I know very little. Thankfully, I can cheat occasionally and get an answer from the solutions printed at the back which helps me then figure out other answers. I will definitely buy more of Simon & Schuster!

300 puzzles for about fifteen bucks. On good paper with perforated pages. Just enough mistakes to make me feel like Endeavor Monk, and some pricelessly amusing. I look for new issues. Best word freak hobby outlet invention ever.

This is my go to book. I have done all 22 editions and even some of them twice when I run out of one. I am anxiously awaiting edition #23 as I am half through #22. I prefer the larger puzzles with about 200 clues.Keep these books coming!!!!!!

I love these and have been buying these .for years.. These have been difficult to find and now getting delivered to me. Just a dr3am.

Difficult enough to keep us challenged but not impossible. Many enjoyable hours!

My brain’s health

This is a great puzzle book, fairly large in size and easy to read, although I find it very difficult to solve and I have to cheat and look at the back to fill a lot of the words in. If you're a crossword beginner, this book is not for you; I find it way to hard. However if you're experienced at crosswords you will probably love this book.
