Set of 2 HSS Blades 3/32" x 5/8" x 5" for Lathe Parting Cut Off Blade

Measures 3/32 or 12/128 on the cutting edge and tapers to 7/128 on the base so it will not bind unless you send it in at the wrong angle. the cutting edge is also angled to lead with a single point. No need to grind this tool prior to usage. Could benefit from lapping or a kiss on a high grit stone but I would not assume the need. Good quality. great price. Will buy again.

Nice straight metal things to cut and grind into lathe cutting tools. They work fine on my easy-to-machine aluminum and delrin projects.

I was impressed by these HSS parting blades. I was using a parting tool with inserts I got here off of amazon, and after 3 carbide cutters failed while I was cutting soft metal, I switched to these parting blades, and they made nice ribbon flake chips, at 70 rpms with light coolant flow. Cut 100% better than the cheap tin coated carbide tips which were breaking, tearing up the tool, and flying out of the tool. All I can say is this is a good quality cutter for China production.

These blades don't reflect their price, they work as well as many that cost much more, I will buy these again but it may be a while as they are holding up very well. The only caution would be to make sure you install them in the holder in the proper direction, otherwise buy them with confidence.
