Product Description The biggest difference between the Rockboard Scooter and all others is the fact that the Rockboard is 2 scooters in 1! The advanced Rockboard technology allows you to shred the pavement in Rockboarding mode, or quickly transform your ROCKBOARD SCOOTER into a low-profile kick scooter. The rear spring-enhanced suspension means the smoothest ride even on the most unforgiving pavement. With superior strength, and lightning quick dual-mode action adjustment, your new Rockboard Scooter means hours of insane fun! .com Love your kick scooter, but also want the versatility of a shredding scooter? Turn to the Rockboard two-in-one scooter, which combines the best of both worlds. The scooter is equipped with advanced Rockboard propulsion technology, which includes a steel power-drive chain that allows you to shred the pavement in Rockboarding mode. However, if you're looking for a more casual ride, you can adjust the two-position locking joint and turn the Rockboard into a low-profile kick scooter. It's like owning two completely different scooters but without spending the extra money. The Rockboard scooter is built to last, with an ultra-strong steel box frame, a steel front fork, and a die-cast aluminum deck. The scooter's rear spring-enhanced suspension system, meanwhile, creates a smooth ride on the most unforgiving pavement. And thanks to the nylon-reinforced spokes and super-tough urethane wheels, the scooter provides amazing rolls and even better traction. Other features include a reinforced handlebar assembly for safety; comfort grips and an aluminum alloy brake handle that allow for secure control; a telescoping downpipe with a height adjustment lock; and an oversized nylon coupler that allows you to fold the handlebars for compact storage. Specifications: Wheel base: 27 inches (rock mode); 29 inches (kick mode) Handlebar height: 36 to 46.5 inches (adjustable) Curb weight: 20.8 pounds Maximum weight: 200 pounds Warranty: 90 days

Fun Machine
I bought a Rockboard to have some fun with my grandkids. The product is nicely manufactured with a fine paint job and an ingenious push-pull double chain mechanism turning the rear wheel through a one-way clutch. A hand brake is actually a clamping drum brake. The engineering design and manufacturing finesse are worth the price. Grandkids love it. I took the Rockboard to a neighborhood block party and the Rockboard beat the air filled bounce-house as the most fun toy for kids. The neighborhood kids were begging for the opportunity to ride it. Amazingly, each child in the 6 to 13 year old age group could instantly grasp the riding technique and was soon confidently riding around and we did not have one spill or injury all afternoon. I regularly use an A5 Razor scooter for short distance urban transportation but for me the Rockboard in the rocker mode is not suited to this for several reasons. First is that the Rockboard can go fast, perhaps 6-9 mph, which is too fast for sidewalks but not fast enough for streets. Second, the Rockboard is big and heavy compared to a Razor A5 and carrying one on a bus or train is cumbersome, but not as cumbersome as a bike. Third is that you ride pretty high compared to the Razor and so putting a foot down for a quick stop takes some practice, although riding high gives good visibility. Use of the Rockboard in the scooter mode is only for occasional use if the rocker mode is not available because the Rockboard is too heavy and bulky to use as a regular scooter and the one-way clutch will not allow it to roll backwards. I do not think that the Rockboard is totally unsuitable for urban transportation but care is needed because of its speed potential, plus some strong arms for carrying. While not suited for urban transportation, at least not for me, the Rockboard is a nice cardio workout device in the rocking mode. Your calves will feel some muscle tension immediately. The up and down rocking motion required for propulsion give me a more intense workout than cycling because there is more resistance. Coasting is possible to catch a break or to reduce speed. This product works right out of the box. No assembly is required except for a very simple connection of handebars and some turns of a knob to set the downtube at the proper angle in a color-coded detent. Total setup time is only a few minutes. A DVD is supplied with a user manual along with some Allen wrenches to tighten screws if needed.

COOL NEW SCOOTER CONCEPT
Ordered this for my 7 year old son, and he loves it. It's quite the conversation piece, as teens turn their heads to check it out and people just can't help their curiosity and say, what IS that?!It's a cross between a scooter and a bicycle, goes pretty fast, and I've enjoyed it myself. Good, wholesome, yet different exercise. The box arrived a little damaged, and had been previously opened - but it works great!

FUN!
My daughter asked for it for 6 months, she saved her $ and bought it herself, easy to ride, good instructions, even adults can ride it and have fun. Just wished that it came in pink....we got the bigger one and the color selection is not that big. Overall is a great toy. Haven't tried in hills yet.

kickboard
It's good on flat surfaces in kick mode especially thru pedestrian traffic. If you want to go fast or up hill I would set it for normal push mode. There's not a day that goes by with out someone asking about it. Once you get the hang of it its really fun. My son and his friends love it.

neat concept, but not for regions with hills
Well-built item recv'd in a bit of a beat-up packaging, but item in perfect condition. A bit pricey for something not motorized, but a well-made item. And really need to live in an area of flat-lands to get the most use from it, as it's real tough to "pump" going up hills in more mountainous regions.

Loved it
I bought this for my son and truthfully thought I was wasting my money. But, he loved it and has been riding it everyday for the past month. The neigborhood kids all enjoy it as well.

It's heavy and while the wheels are nice and big and sturdy
It's heavy and while the wheels are nice and big and sturdy, it is very difficult to get it going very fast, unless you are going downhill.
