I ended up breaking down and buying the C plate because I bought a Spellbinder's die set where using cardstock shims just wasn't cutting it (literally!) Now with this C plate and the Spellbinder's embossing pad the Spellbinder's dies work great. Review: What I needed. - I purchased a cuttlebug to start making diecuts and this was the plate I needed (it wasn't included in my original purchase). So far it works great, heads up it will crack at times when you run it through your machine but aside from a few deep dents, I haven't had any major issues with it.
