Good product, delivered on time, as described.
Product as described with good directions for installation. I expect it will perform as others I have used (from different sellers) in the past.

Box Mounting Plate is the Key
Correct placement of the mounting plate is the key to the installation. Notice the arrows on the mounting plate. The arrows will line up with the lines you draw using the measurements from the installation instructions. Because they sent me measurements in millimeters and not Imperial, I gave this review four stars instead of five. My installation was for a full overlay for a top opening lid. I measured 70mm from the rear wall and drew a parrallel line down the right wall. I then measered 45mm down from the top of the box (bottom of the lid) and drew a line on the wall parallel to the top. The lines need to be long enough to go beyond the mounting plate so you can line up the arrows on the mounting plate with the drawn lines (see the photo).Once you screw the mounting plate in, attach the support in the fully open position and you will be able to line up the top of the support with the lid. Mark it, drill your holes, and attach the lid mounting plate. Detach the lid support from the box mounting plate, twist the top of the support into the lid mounting plate, and re-attach the support arm to the box mounting plate. That's how I did it and it works perfectly.

How to fix the lid from "Slamming" on fingers!!!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this for a toy box. Following the instructions, I installed it and it would soft close most of the way but about 6 inches from done it would slam down which is bad for little fingers. After looking at this more closely I realized the connection on the lid was correct but they had me put the box connection (the round enf) too far out.To fix this leave the lid connected and move the round part closer to the lid by about 2 inches. It works great now and what would have been a 1 Star review and a return is now a 5 Star and a Christmas Present for my niece!

Instructions are useless
To the dollar cost of buying this, add lots of your time to install it and a big dose of needed patience, because the instructions are almost unintelligible. First, the copy we received from what seems like an intermediary seller were in millimeters, not inches. We converted, but it’s a hassle. Some online research turned up instructions in inches from the actual manufacturer (not listed on our version or packaging)—that version was just slightly better. We also found a video showing a paper template that’s used to help position the unit accurately, which would have been incredibly helpful, but it wasn’t included in our package. We’re guessing that, again, it was because ours came from an intermediary seller. We’re handy and figured out how to install it, but the hinge itself isn’t great. It seems solid enough to keep the lid open, but it’s so hard to close that we’re worried the child won’t be able to do that easily, and will push the lid and damage the hinge—the instructions say not to force the lid to close it. Once we got the lid started closing, it took so long to shut that we had to leave the room or scream. There must be better options out there, and we wish we’d found one before we wasted so much time on this one.

They work fine if you can figure it out how to install them
Hinges work as expected and seem decently well made. Unfortunately the directions are microscopic and essentially indecipherable, so installing them is pretty much a matter of trial and error.

Toy Box Lid Support
I don’t usually write reviews, but this is the fourth soft close support that I have purchased for an oak toy chest! This is the only one that actually works to support in open position and also soft closes all the way!! The others allows lid to drop in final position… The videos of these that aren’t working, if you look are not installed correctly!

Worked great on our cedar chest
We had an old cedar chest sitting around, and I finally cleaned it up and added these great safety hinges to the lid. They do a great job of keeping the lid up when needed and then slowly closing the lid in place. They were easy enough to install.

Works Fine But Beware of Instructions.
The instructions are pretty tiny, a bit confusing & they're completely wrong. I was installing on a toy box with overlay lid & butt hinges so I used the specific instructions for that condition. I can't comment on the instructions for other conditions but for this one they are incorrect. I installed both the mounting plate to the end wall of the box & the arm fixing plate to the lid exactly to the dimensions noted, they were dead on spec. When I installed the stay, the lid closed slowly until the last 5" & then slammed shut. It got to the 5" point & just fell the last bit so it wasn't as violent as if it fell the entire way but still very loud & still would hurt a child's fingers. In addition the lid was only held open about 87 degrees & not close to the 105 degrees stated. After watching some YouTube videos of these being installed, I could see their mounting plate was noticeably closer to the back wall of the toy box. I double checked mine & it was exactly 5 5/16" from center of the butt hinge to the center of the mounting plate.Only after multiple trials of relocating the mounting plate could I get the lid stay to control the motion all the way down & close softly as intended. By the time I got it working properly I'd moved the mounting plate 1 1/2" closer to the back of the box & about 3/4" lower. That's not even close to the dimensions called for on the instructions. Plus now the end panel of the box looks like an angry woodpecker attacked it.My 16" height lid weighs about 6.8 pounds & per the instructions a single stay should handle lids from 4.4 to 7.5 pounds & mine is within that range, so it's not an overweight issue.I don't see how it's possible for the manufacturer to not know the correct positioning & to not have corrected the instructions by now. As I was trying various locations it seems the slightest move makes a huge difference. I had it working pretty well but not yet perfect so I moved it just an 1/8" & the function got dramatically worse so it's absolutely critical that the instructions be correct. I'm not sure if I have it in the ultimate position, it may work slightly better if I moved it a bit more but it works acceptably now so I didn't want to put any more holes in my box.In the YouTube comments people noted the exact same 5" slamming issue & another person noted he had to move the mounting plate back from where the instructions said so this appears to be an ongoing problem that has not been corrected by the manufacturer.
