Roland V-4EX 4-Channel Digital Video Switcher for Quality Video Performance and Web Streaming

Works great, at a 480 output it actually looks far sharper and better than I would have anticipated. The multiple ins and outs are very useful and it seems to auto-downscale inputs for you which is a relief. That saves imput number 4 for any pesky devices that have to come in a 1080etc. I wish for my needs it was a little smaller and I don't need all the silly wipes but that doesn't take away from the great job it does. Also the touch screen to view in and outputs has several useful options and always easy built in monitoring. I would spend a couple days or at least hours getting to know it just so you know what to do in live situations. All in all it's a great unit and finally being able to use HDMI from live video is a relief and gives me versatility. I don't need to write negatively about another company to be positive about this one but we tried several Black Magic units into state of the art Macs and never found them to work. If Black Magic works for you, awesome. But they never worked for me EVER. This unit does it all 99% plug and play with a very small learning curve and robust connections. Highly recommended.

I waste my money on this switcher there is one input 1080 the other 3 input it’s only 480p the video it’s very poorly playing $1500.00 jus for one input it’s really bad

Everything worked great. The product came way faster than the estimate. The only complaint is that all the support docs were in Japanese, so I went online and printed out the English version. Not a big deal but if they ship to US, please include appropriate language. The mixer itself works perfectly and we are using both HD and SD cameras through this system and it worked flawlessly.

Nothing else comes close to the features that this unit provides for the money. We use it for traveling stage productions. Just wish it had more inputs.

Good purchase

Absolutely useless for this day and age. It only has ONE 1080 input. You can't find ANYTHING in 2020 that will convert down to 480p to make use of the first 3 inputs. I even emailed customer service at Roland asking for a list of cameras that work and their response was THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO CAMERAS WITH 480p... however there is one HD slot. Yes Roland, I know there is ONE HD SLOT on your FOUR (!) CHANNEL MIXER!!! What a waste of money. If you're trying to stream with ONE channel buy a camlink for 1/20th the price.
