I should have probably got the chalkboard paint instead
I spent a bit more money on the convenience of this chalkboard contact paper (rather than get cheap contact paper or paint my own board using the chalkboard paint by 3M). This paper is OK. The paper itself is fairly thin, which leads to bubbling and creasing. I was able remove most of these using a larger squeegee. However, since some would not come out that way, I had to pull back the paper several times to reapply. That worked only partially, and there is at least one permanent crease in the paper. The adhesive seems good and strong, and the removal and reapplication did not seem to affect the overall stickiness. The thin paper also had one small breakthrough from my finger pulling on it. As far as writing, you can tell this is not real chalkboard. The feel is best described as soft. Real chalkboard has grittiness that pulls on the chalk in a way that makes it easy to write. This does not resist the chalk, which creates a more uneven presentation in the writing. I've only wrote on the board using the chalk that came with it, I will update the review after purchasing a few chalkboard pens to try out on it. As of its initial application, I think it might have been better for me to paint a thin board with chalkboard paint rather than using (at least this brand?) chalkboard contact paper. Shame, since the price is more expensive than the materials to diy it with the paint.Update: Given that one of my reasons for purchasing this contact paper was the "100 Risk-free money back guarantee" on the product, I contact the seller (HomeSeries) and asked for my money back. Within less than an hour (as I look now, it was something like 20 minutes), they had contacted me to process the refund, and within a few hours Amazon had processed the money back. Completely hassle-free and prompt. Kudos to HomeSeries for keeping their word so well!

Fun!
I covered a children's table with this. It was easy to apply. The paper is pretty thin so make sure you have a smooth surface. I had a couple of paint bumps and I should have sanded them down before applying this contact paper. The paper did not erase well and I don't know if that is the fault of the paper or the eraser. But, this is a super fun idea and I think my grandsons will enjoy using it.

Decent product but easy to ruin
This is a contact paper chalkboard that sticks to walls. The good:It is a quick and dirty chalkboard. As it is a paper product, it can be cut down to whatever size is convenient. The bad:The product is contact paper; getting it perfectly flat on the wall is probably not impossible, but it is difficult. The likely unavoidable ridges you will get in the paper will make writing legibly difficult. The length of the contact paper sheet also makes the product unwieldy. If, by accident, the contact side of the paper were to stick to another spot on the contact side, separation is impossible and you'll have to cut the self-stuck segment away.

Looks and "feels" like a real chalkboard
I bought this for my niece for Christmas because she wanted a chalkboard in her bedroom, but her parents really didn't want her putting holes in her walls. Why? They know teenage girls. Today she wants it above her bed, next week she'll want it next to her door, etc. and they didn't want holes everywhere. I figured a chalkboard that "clings" to the wall was a perfect solution since it means she can move it around as much as she wanted.I was definitely skeptical though. First, would it really stay up? Second, would it really work like a chalkboard, or is it more like a piece of paper?First, yes it stays up perfectly. It was easy to put up, stays up, and it's easy to take down and move it around (as her parent's thought, it's already been relocated 3 times!). On the point of working like a chalkboard, I was really surprised. When you rub your hand across the area it feels smooth and plastic like. However, when you write on it with a piece of chalk, if you closed your eyes you would swear it was a real chalkboard. Somehow it "feels" exactly like writing on a chalkboard. Fortunately though it doesn't seem to have the "squeaky chalkboard" problem you'd have with a real chalkboard though!I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a chalkboard with none of the hassle of putting up a chalkboard and also doesn't want to invest the money that a chalkboard of this size would cost.

Disappointing Purchase
I have to agree with the negative reviews – this was a disappointing purchase. And I bought it based on the numerous positive reviews. The chalk does not write on the contact paper – even “seasoning” it wasn’t great – and I did that twice just to make sure it was correct. I have several different brands of chalk, including the free pieces that came with the paper, and they are way too hard to even show up on the paper. We are using a 50” section of it on a wall for my toddler to draw on. While it did peel fairly nicely off the backing (you can re-apply it several times if necessary), it did get creases in it. It sticks well to the wall but the overall use is terrible. I am still going to try some softer chalk, Rose Art brand was way to cheap and hard, but we are considering taking it off and just putting an old-school chalk-board up.

Good for homeschool room walls
This was super easy to install. I got one roll on piece of cake. The second roll I had to take on and off a few times to get it to line up seamlessly, but the adhesive on the back remained in good shape, and there are no marks on the wall. Took me about 15 minutes. It was easy to score the end with my scissors at the shoe molding, and again it didn't mark the wall. As for writing performance, I "cured" it once rubbing chalk all over. It comes with a small sample chalk pack in each roll. It has worked fine since. I have only tentatively tested liquid chalk on it, but it came off fairly easily. I also don't wash it much, but it doesn't seem to need it as long as you are using traditional chalk, and not some of the cheap bright brands that can ruin a board. There are tiny bumps all over from the underlying wall texture, but they are very subtle. Plus, if my toddler overwrites onto the regular wall, it comes right off with a damp cloth.
