NOT FOR EMERGENCY USE
Unless the one I blew is somehow defective, these are nothing more than little indoor toy train whistle. Great for the little tyke that likes trains.Oddly enough, the video in the reviews is louder on my phone than the actual sound from the whistle.I ordered these along with another type for stocking stuffers, but these alone do not suffice. I suppose someone might hear you on a clear night with no wind in the middle of an open field.Oh yeah ... and they are orange, thats helpful I suppose. I would give it a 3 star if they advertised these as toys, but they describe it as for emergencies.

Perfect for Scouts
Bought these for Cub Scouts to use hiking and camping. Comes in a reusable plastic case, with 8 individually wrapped whistles and lanyards. I like this flat style better than some of the louder/bulkier whistles. For kids, its shape makes it easier to stow in a pocket without being a nuisance and keeps them from constantly blowing on it. They aren't the loudest design of whistle on the market, so if you are looking for volume, there are better options. But for kids in the woods, it's more than loud enough, easy to carry, and come in a multi-pack... perfect.

Very well built
These whistles are amazingly loud you just have to make sure that when using the whistles that your upper lip doesn't cover the three holes that the sound comes out of. Very good construction 👍and great 👍price this is not piece of junk very good quality and it came to me on time

I'm sure they'll work out on the water ways or hiking .
They came fast and nicely packaged, I purchased these because they are required for white water rafting and boating around our area. I like to provide these along with a nice comfortable life-jacket.

Great emergancy whistle
Great whistle at a super price. Led a trip out west for 45 skiers/boarders and bought enough for everyone. I have louder whistles for my boat but they are bulky in comparison. Plenty of volume and great price. A must for tree skiing and safety anywhere.

Good buy and cheap
The whistles are nearly flat. They work. They are brightly colored. Am happy with the purchase. Recommend.8 came in the pack. Plenty for anyone.

Good for group outdoor activities
I bought these to be used by Cub Scouts. They are a convenient size and shape to slip into a day-hike first-aid kit, and there is room on the side for writing the owner's name. I like the fact that they came individually wrapped.
