Improving Adolescent Literacy: Content Area Strategies at Work (3rd Edition) 3rd Edition

This book provided an easy to read, neatly organized list of strategies which could be used to improve any classroom. It systematically went through different areas that contain literacy, including work with vocab words, graphic organizers, note taking, etc., and explained multiple strategies which could be used. I thought it was great because for certain strategies the book offered a type of case study. It would examine a classroom where it was taking place. That really offered a way to see the strategy in use. It also provided many visuals to go with the descriptions. Overall, I would recommend this to any teacher interested in expanding their horizons and making literacy a major part of their classroom, no matter the subject.

Just rented this for a class requirement but the content within is very relevant for a future teacher or someone planning to home school. Many helpful ideas and examples to engage children in literacy.

Although this was a book for my classes for school, it was an interesting and detailed book. This book had a lot of valuable knowledge and information in it.

The book was much smaller than I expected for an $84 paperback! Robbery. But, if you've got to have it....
