Super easy to do. Here is what you need:12mm wrench13mm wrench10mm socket with a ratchet wrench. Deep socket will be best to buy if you dont have one. If you do have one, use an extension so you clear the body work and weather strippingA 6 foot ladder or a friend. Choose your own adventure. Personally i used my own head to support my lift gate. It wasn't the most fun in the world.Some time.You may need some wd40. I did not on my 2007 nissan versa.1) Open your lift gate, and position the ladder, your friend, or your head under the outside edge of your lift gate.2) Use the 12mm wrench to remove the ball pins on the part of the struts that is on the lift gate. Let the lift gate rest on your chosen support device. 3) Use the 10mm socket and ratchet wrench to take out the 2 bolts on both struts. They should come out fairly easily.4) Screw the 2 new ball pins into the bolt holes on your lift gate. Make sure to use the included washers.5) Screw the new struts into where the old struts were. Make sure the new struts are attached in the same way as the old ones. There is a left side and a right side.6) Remove the locking pins from both new struts. Push the ball joints of the new struts onto the ball pins. Once they are attached, you will be able to easily push the pins up into the small holes on the ball joint, and turn the pins to so they are locked onto the shafts of the struts.7) Admire your work. Show off your lift gate to your friends. Experience how you are now more attractive and successful with your improved lift gate experience.

I just installed these for my mom's 2011 Nissan Versa. They worked fine when I installed them on Saturday but then she showed me on Sunday morning how the struts wouldn't support the hatch anymore. These only worked while I installed them and were trash by the next day. Not happy at all with these supports. Unfortunately, I threw away the old ones which were working better than this junk. Now I have to go and look for supports that work. :(

This tailgate lift support save me a lot of money and time. The product is no longer available at auto supply stores sincevmybVersa iscac2009; I would have had to order from the Nissan dealer AND everyone knows you pay much more at the car dealer! However, my husband had a difficult time installing the lift support. He put it on all the different ways possible. I had to call the supplier that Amazon got it from. The supplier was very concerned and extremely helpful- she offered to replace the product if need be. I decided to have our mechanic put it on And he did so to my relief. Thank you Amazon for caring this product.

would of saved me time if it did. need to unscrew tops to align with joints on the car, which i didn't know i could do at first which was really frustrating as I thought they were defective

I don't think any car repair is "super easy." This one was a little confusing at first. I tried to wing it but found some YouTube vids that were helpful. Now my hatch opens and closes like butter... or "butta." Great inexpensive replacement part for saving yourself some moolah.

Exact duplicate of the one that failed on the 2010 Versa. Easily installed in a few minutes with standard tools. Don't forget to lubricate the ball sockets regularly to prevent seizure.

These fit my wife's 2008 Nissan Versa hatchback perfectly and work just like new. Would buy again.

Instructions were not accurate at all. The product seems great for the moment*** UPDATE ***This lasted maybe 6 to 7 months. Seller rejected any request I have done to have this replaced and clearly does not want to help on defective product. The quality of this product was poor and the customer service was none.
