This is a modified take on the old Army Alice Pack. It is not identical, you should be able to tell in the pictures, but it is very close, with some improvements. The measurable differences are that this is a little larger, the metal frame is not as sturdy, the drawstring is better quality, it has 5 pouches instead of three, and the back brace padding is a little thinner. There are certainly pros and cons from the old one, but I like the larger size and more pouches in this version. It works as advertised and feels great on with about 35 pounds in it. The only improvement I would recommend is a carry strap at the top like the more modern rucks in future versions.

I WANTED A MILITARY TYPE RUCK SACK TO USE WHEN CAMPING. I CAN PACK MOST EVERYTHING I NEED IN MY RUCK SACK AND HAVE IT AT MY FINGER TIPS WHEN I NEED IT. THEY ARE VERY DURABLY AND WILL LAST A LIFETIME

As a newly retired Light infantryman I can say that with out a doubt you will need to purchase different shoulder straps. The ruck itself is pretty good and seems durable along with the frame. It comes ready to rock out of the box but again the shoulder straps and kidney pad blows.

The bag arrived fully assembled; straps attached, and Fram attached to bags. Anyone who has ever had to assembly an external frame rucksack like this understands that it can sometimes be time consuming. The material isn't the same as actual military ALICE packs, and that's fine, because it doesn't feel flimsy whatsoever. The main compartment is quite large, just the originals. Overall, it is light and sturdy. I have yet to put long any miles with the pack, but it feels very comfortable on my back.

Bought this for my husband for christmas since hes been wanting one without needing to use his military issue one. He loves it and uses it all the time for rucking.

The frame on this broke the first time using. I was unable to return since I was at a training camp. Not very sturdy. I would not recommend purchase if using for training - it is not built for "Real" use.

Very happy with it, but dont buy without the frame. You need the frame.

I gave it as a gift. They are happy with it.
