Library Yahtzee Vintage Book Game

I've got 5 of these vintage game collection sets and I think they are great. I don't mind that they are on the shelf and visible to anyone that enters my livingroom because they have a nice classic look to them. I had to wait a while before I got the Yahtzee because the prices people had were insane but fortunately patience paid off and I got it for a reasonable price. My only issue was that while it was still new, a couple of the edges of the box had some slight damage to them. Not worth returning over it, but still disappointing. The dice are a little cheap feeling too but those are easy to replace down the road if necessary.

It's a simple dice game and can be purchased without the book shelf box for less than $10.00. This version cost $60.00. Pretty pricey for a small wooden box. Would never have bought it except if was a gift someone asked for.

My daughter enjoys a Yahtzee tradition with her father. This was the only Yahtzee game available in December so I agreed to pay $150 for it. I knew that was crazy when I did it. But when they opened it on Christmas I was appalled. Broken dividers in the wooden case. The cheapest, lowest quality dice you could imagine, felt needed to be re glued, and now looks even worse. I would return this if it cost $25. Because it was a Christmas gift I am stuck.

This "Library Set" seems a little more cheaply made than sets we purchased over the last few years - for the money - it's not the best quality.

Years ago I had gotten one of these boxes with a wooden inside and place holders for the dice. In hopes of matching the same exact casing with the one I had I ordered this one. It came in and was NOT what I had expected. Small score cards, tiny dice, and plastic insides to hold things. This is NOT what it used to be so beware!

Live having this version. Too bad they don’t make them like this anymore.

I started collecting this wood book set when my mother bought me the monopoly one. Each of these has been a great addition of the collect.
