Worked great for 2006 Toyota Tacoma
These installed nicely in my 2006 Tacoma. I used rivnuts instead of the rivets and self tapping screws that came with it. It sure make lifting that hood much easier.

Easy install, basic tools needed, works great!
You need a riveter, 3/16 drill bit, a punch, a hammer, measuring tape and some patience, I was able to get it installed in about 30 min, driver side is the same as passenger side. Opens up perfectly! Love this mod! Installed on a 2010 tacoma

Redline Hood Struts on 2014 Tacoma
I completely love this kit, found a cheap pop rivet gun a Harbour Freight and 30 minutes later I was done!

Wallah. Im digging it.
Great kit so far. Makes opening and closing the hood much less of a hassle. I purchased these struts to go on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma. The truck is lifted so getting the hood up high enough to sit it on the hood prop is a pain. This was the perfect solution. The kit comes with everything you need and is pretty easy to install with a little know how. If its your first time. Take your time. Read everything twice. Measure everything twice. Anyway. The hood struts are the perfect PSI for the Tacoma hood. Allowing it to close easily, while maintaining a strong hold when the hood is open. Also the hood opens by itself once its at about 15 degree angle which is very nice and the struts are progressive so they slow down the rate the hood is opening when close to the top for a gentle stop. I know many people like to DIY there own hood strut kits. As gas shocks are easily found in most auto parts stores and ball brackets can be easily purchased online. The DIY will probably come out cheaper too. I have done it before with success, but its a headache. First measuring and seeing the location the ball mounts will go in on your car to allow uninterrupted opening and closing of the hood. Then you have to find the right ball brackets for your application. You will need to know how many pounds each shock needs to be. You need to know how long each shock needs to be and you need to find out if its a progressive shock or not. This kit just throws all of that headache out the window, because everything has been done for you in advance. All you have to do is install it. The price is also right on par too. I gave these 4 stars because of a couple reasons. The instructions that come with the kit need some work. They are not bad they do leave some things to be desired. Like there is no instructions on how to actually mount and secure the struts to the ball bracket. For me it was not a big deal as Ive replaced many hood and trunk struts, but it would be a pain for someone who has never done it and is attempting their first DIY. The second reason I gave 4 stars is because of the hardware that comes with the kit. The hardware seems like great quality hardware but they send you exactly 4 self tapping screws and 4 rivets. Which is just enough to mount all the hardware required. Now anyone who has used rivets as much as I have, know that sometimes they break or do not seat properly and ones this happens the has to be removed and can not be reused. So seeing as they only send you just enough rivets if one happens to break then you will have to contact the manufacturer and see if they will send you more then wait days to get them, or you will end up searching far and wide for the same size rivet. Rivets come in a wide variety of size, shapes, material, and types. You will be hard pressed to find the same exact rivet locally. So I advise anyone attempting this install to take their time, because if you break any of those rivets then you are going to have a headache. Thank goodness I had no problems with the hardware so my installation when pretty smoothly

Easy upgrade
This was probably one of the easiest upgrades I've done to my 2006 Taco, and I've done a few! What I liked: First off the directions were written in actual English, not that Ikea language, and had pictures. What I didn't like: there were several eyeball measurements. Ie: 1 3/4 from the edge of the hood. I used a small level to be as accurate as possible. The directions describe the driver's side only, and doesn't mention that you may have to pull the windshield washer fluid bracket out a bit to fit the passenger side in. There is no way to double check before completion Most importantly it worked, and it worked on the first try.

Minor bothers
Absolutely happy with the results. And with a YouTube I found, it was a 8 minute install. The only issue I had is not having written instructions, but as I said, the was resolved. The kit comes with 4 rivets and 4 self tapping screws. The rivets install 1st on the hood and the screws go on the fender. Why rivets? I replaced those with truss head self tapping screws and I its better for it. Rivets in my experience if not truly and properly installed correctly will be loose and progressively get worse. Al in all, an awesome way to go.

The instructions were easily read, easy to install. Took about an hour. Was as advertised. Would recommend the product. Used on our 2009 Toyota, Tacoma, that didn't have struts.

Great product. Can't compare with others but no issues and functions like it should. Be careful drilling and take your time with your rivot tool or use a painless/less aggressive pneumatic rivot gun.
