Good Quality
Was looking for a tin whistle for my Fairy costume for renfair, since my other got stolen. This was great quality, came packaged well. It did not disappoint.

Worth the Money
Lovely little tin whistle. Photo shows a D whistle, listing says a C whistle. It is, indeed a D whistle. I wasn't particular with one over the other so I am happy with it.Yes, this tin whistle can be a bit breathy but can you really complain when you are only spending $8.00? If you want to learn to play a musical instrument without investing big bucks, this is a great place to start. Highly recommended.

CURIOSITY, BORDEM AND VARIETY
This McBrides model has an airy/breathy tone quality that I personally find slightly disappointing. The air pressure needed for the lower notes seems the same as my other tin whistle. I guess it's a pleasant thing that I can blow stronger for the second octave without fear of corrupting (BREAKING) the pitches. The tuning so far is scattered: low A is okay, octave A is flat, low D is slightly sharp, octave D is also sharp and the 2nd octave D is in tune. Overall, this tin whistle is okay for informal jam sessions with folks who are forgiving and just want to make music. A beginner with serious intensions for learning the tin whistle would do better with a higher quality ($$) instrument. I purchased this tin whistle because of curiosity, boredom and variety. Now I know what a cheap Walton's Tin Whistle is all about.

BEST WHISTLE FOR MY KINDERGARTENER
I bought this whistle recorder for my homeschooler's music class. It sounds perfect and it's very easy to use. I recommend it 100% for it's sound and durability.

Decent And Cheap
This is not the best sounding whistle in my collection but it is not the worst either. For less than $9, though, it can live in my work backpack. And if something happens to it on the road I am pretty sure I will have gotten my $9 of value out of it.I don’t think I would recommend it as a starter instrument, but as a back up or glovebox spare (what? you don’t keep a penny whistle or old Hohner Marine Band in the glove box with a deck of cards and a beat up copy of Trouble Is My Business? it is called an emergency kit!).

Barely acceptable whistle
I bought this as a simple instrument to take on a cruise. I’ve played Irish whistles for years and I have a range of them from expensive to very inexpensive. Of my inexpensive ones, this has the worst sound. I don’t recommend it. Get a Clark or tweaked Jerry Freeman and you’ll be happier for it.
