ATF
I have used this fluid in 4 vehicles now, Hondas, ford and as power steering fluid in several other vehicles. This is my go to fluid for an auto as it works for almost everything. I have never had any issues with shifting. Universal makes this very easy to use and know it should work for your application

Works in 2010 Volvo XC70 T6 *when lucas transfix is added* Wouldent recommend for T-IV / JWS 3309
**UPDATE: I was getting some low speed shifting issues that were related to the transmission not having enough pressure to shift. I added my 2 quart mixture of max-life and Lucas trans fix and the issue was fixed. Though the mileage of my transmission may be related to me issue, I will just stick with T-IV/3309 ATF from now on to reduce variables. Purchased the 12qt option to do a DRAIN AND FILL (not flush) in my 165+K mile US Spec Volvo XC70 T6 with an Aisin tf-80sc. I assume that the fluid had been changed prior to my ownership as the car had been shifting fine, however the fluid was still changed to a synthetic in preparation of towing a trailer cross country Since purchase, ~10 quarts of fluid has been drain/filled into the transmission over two separate drain and fill sessions. the remaining 2 quarts have been saved and premixed with a bottle of LUCAS Trans Fix in the event I need to use it to thicken up the fluid. Reason for this is that this year of car Specs. Toyota Type "T-IV", mineral based fluid rather than the, claimed incompatible, Type "WS", Synthetic based fluid of the 2011+ Volvo 3.2/T6 cars. This Valvoline fluid cross references both. I will update if there are issues such as needing to add the Lucas. An automatic transmission is most simply a system involving a fluid coupling, multiple wet clutches that engage/disengage gears using hydraulic pressure, and a front differential (in some cases). This means that ATF is technically a temperature resistant hydraulic fluid, with certain additives included for clutch and differential gear operation. Not as complex as auto manufactures make it out to be, but viscosity is still important. If you are still concerned with damaging your transmission with this fluid, I suggest doing the flowing; 1. Purchase the exact fluid recommended for your car, regardless of price. 2. Purchase LUCAS Trans Fix or keep an amount of your old fluid in the chance that your transmission does have an issue with shifting or slipping with this new fluid (old fluid may contain worn off clutch material) 3. Drain/fill the transmission over multiple sessions to avoid "shocking the system" (It is said that an automatic transmission contains its own "automotive ecosystem" after a long period of use).

Valvoline is my first choice
I think Valvoline lubricants are the best on the market. Use this in my wife’s 2019 Acadia and it’s fantastic. No issues. Runs like a dream still. Only time will tell if it’s as great as the reviews say it is, but I have faith.
