Norton 360 Premium, 2026 Ready Antivirus software for 10 Devices with Auto-Renewal – Includes Advanced AI Scam Protection, VPN, Dark Web Monitoring & PC Cloud Backup [Key Card]

Bottom line, I like the Symantec/Norton malware protection I get from this product. I have been using it for a couple of decades now (in its various forms). When Norton decided to go to the "subscription" model, I was not amused, but as written in the FAQs, one can buy a new license here for much less than the automated renewal, but it comes with a minor cost: You have to install the new license, at least on one computer. Here is what I did: 1) Waited to get a good deal on this SW around the Black Friday time frame (to be installed at the end of the year). 2) Waited until 45 days before the old license was set to expire then went online to discontinue the automated subscription (I messed up last year and paid full price). 3) Waited until the day the old subscription expired. 4) Uninstalled Norton 365 on my main machine. 5) Rebooted. 6) Installed the latest North 365 (per the instructions) and used the new Key when prompted. 7) Went into MyNorton to assign the new Key to my other machines. 7a) Had to uninstall and reinstall the code on my smartphone in order to apply the new Key to it. This was the only minor issue I had. This renewed subscription is now running on all my computers and my one phone as expected!!! At the reduced cost! Piece of cake.

There are many brands of antivirus/security programs on the market but none have been around as long as Norton’s. I have use them all and I still run two more security programs at least once a month to be sure nothing is on my devices. The only one I keep running 24/7 is Norton’s 360 Premium. Also now own by LifeLock which is a top notch service. If you subscribe to LikeLock you get Norton’s for free. Otherwise this subscription is the best on the market covering ten devices including smart phones and pads. Outstanding for desktops and laptops. Does not huge memory or slow your computer. Runs lightning fast in computers with the newest chips. Protects you on the browser, too. Can be a password manager on your laptop. Runs in the background but encourage full scans at least once a month (I do weekly). Tech support is great. The first time you create an account at their website which allows you to easily download the program to any device and keeps track of which devices you are using. Also gives you reports on overall security. Easy to install and even uninstall if the need arises. The program is updated several times a day. If you leave your device running, will do automatically. Lots of notifications but not ads! The cost of this subscription is the lowest anywhere and is a bargain. This is my number one security program for over 20 years and I have tried them all or still use a few of them as a double check especially for malware and other unusual program flaws which can put you at risk. Avoid all software programs made in Russia or China. Just US made programs. This program is all you need to protect your devices and data. Do backup your data monthly. Can use a cloud service but I still backup to a hard drive monthly.

I have used Norton 360 for many years and find it easy to use and comprehensive in protecting my laptop and desktop. I like the fact that they also provide iCloud storage for my system backup. They also provide protection for my iPhone, iPad but I think these options are fairly new and have room to grow and get more robust.

I have been a Norton (Symantec) user for about 10 years. As of 2023, I have had enough. I strongly recommend you find something else now. == ADWARE WITH PROTECTION Norton does protect. However, it has become bloated and inefficient. It insists on doing additional scans only to try and sell you upgrades to fix "problems." I am sure less tech-savvy people fall for the urgent recommendations and the tricky subscription sign-ups for additional products. The incessant pop-ups are almost always unnecessary and often lead to these upsell attempts. == PUTS YOU AT RISK OF COMPLETELY DISABLING YOUR COMPUTER One of the "fixes" it now offers is to update drivers. Unless you are careful, applying their updates could cause huge problems with your computer. You should really only be doing this through your computer manufacturer's update methods (website or software app). == THE OUTRAGEOUS UNINSTALL EXPERIENCE Uninstalling Norton is ridiculous!! Using the normal Windows uninstaller fails to complete so you are directed to download and use the "Norton Removal and Reinstall" tool. Running that, it only has a button for "Remove and Reinstall" but if you click on the "Advanced" button, it displays a grave warning that you shouldn't just uninstall and then, finally, a "Remove Button." (see photo) But wait!! You think it's gone, but it might not be. After rebooting one of my computers, an urgent Norton window popped up telling you to reinstall Norton! I had to run their removal tool two more times to get rid of it, not before searching the web to find lots of people needing more help getting it off their system. UPDATE: After over a week, one of our other computers started popping up a window insisting we reinstall Norton with NO CANCEL BUTTON. You have to end the process (very technical) to get it to go away. UPDATE #2: I was at my father's house for the holidays and he also wanted to move to a different antivirus product. I tried to uninstall Norton, ran into the same problems, and I had to contact Norton support to get it removed!!! They had to connect to his laptop to do it remotely!!! If you ignore what I've said and install it anyway, I hope you like it because you'll never remove it on your own. Choose another option. This uninstall experience cemented my decision to switch to something else. It's basically malware. == MY SWITCH My Netgear router has a network protection service that includes their well-reviewed Bitdefender antivirus software, a Norton competitor. I decided to try it out on one computer. It's so much more peaceful. I does need initial tweaking in terms of what protection I do and don't want which is expected. Of course, it has some premium offerings (e.g., VPN), but it isn't aggressive and tricky like Norton. The software itself is priced competitively. == Regarding VPNs Don't use the Norton VPN or any antivirus software's VPN. You'll get much better performance from a separate VPN service for the same or cheaper. I use Windscribe but there are other good ones out there (NordVPN, SurfShark, ExpressVPN, Private Internet Access), Check reviews.

This software is the first time I've tried it, and the result is good so far.

I needed at least 6 licenses. Norton does not give long term users any discounts. They offered a 5 license version for at least 3x this price. I have 4 more licenses left and now I can add to other devices that I usually didn't protect because I was a few short. Installation -- easy -- just uninstall the older version, (keep settings), install the new version and up and running. Also, they have greatly improved adding to other machines. You go to your account and simply click on the machine, enter the licence, and when that machine comes on, it will automatically update. So, I could update all the machines without having to boot them at that time, and could just wait until they came on line. I also used a barcode scanner to enter the license so double easy. I sure don't like entering in 25 char keys. (Barcode scanners are really cheap now). Of course the other way is to type once into NOTEPAD, and copy/paste into the license field -- but I wanted to use my barcode scanner for fun. Be sure to remember to disable the auto renewal at least 2 months before the time. I was waiting and suddenly saw a charge about 1.2 month before the expiration! But that was ok, Norton reversed the charges without issue! No question asked and I told them it was a price issue and suggested they meet these competitive prices at least for long term customers! MY experience with Cust Service with Norton has always been great and they have always been helpful especially when I had one of those not-bad viruses hit and with some minor issues. (I allowed them to take over the machine and that got it done fastest, PLUS I learned a few 'tricks' when they did their cleaning)

Norton 360 is a product that people love to hate. Great performance is offset by overbearing business practices. THE GOOD NEWS: Norton security products date back to 1990, just 8 years after the IBM PC was invented. Norton 360 consistently ranks among the top anti-virus programs. Not necessarily the absolute best in every review, but always among the top few. Good speed, thorough malware capture, and nearly real time updates are among its strengths. THE BAD NEWS: For years, Symantec steadily ramped up its hard-selling marketing practices to an unbearable level. An early tactic was to constantly flash renewal messages months away from the subscription expiration date. Then, up-selling pressure became constant. The acquisition of Symantec’s Enterprise Security division by Broadcom in 2019 just seemed to make things worse. Rather than pester users to renew early, they ‘solved’ the problem by requiring people to consent to auto-renewal before being permitted to install the software. Yes, users can deactivate auto-renewal online, but they are dissuaded from doing so by a simple choice of words. Rather than ask users whether they really want to turn off auto-renewal, they instead ask them whether they really want to “CANCEL” their service. Since most people have just purchased their software license at that point, cancelling everything would be bad so they are likely inclined to back out. UDAAP? [SUMMER 2025 UPDATE: Now, if users don’t add additional Norton features like Norton VPN, they are given frightening warnings every time scans are run, stating their security is compromised. My rating has been downgraded one star in light of this and I am moving to another security solution.]
