Safety 1st Prograde Front Loader Washer/Dryer Lock

I really like these latches. You do need to ensure that the mounting surface is very clean before attaching them or the tape will come un-stuck. When the tape came off after 3 years (3 years!) I removed the residue and old tape, and was able to use high quality double-sided foam tape to re-attach. It seems just as secure now as it did before.

I bought this when we first got our front-loading washer to reduce my wife's fears about our precocious 3 year old and his older brother "playing" in the laundry room. The problem with this device is that the only method of installing it on the washer (or dryer) is the adhesive backing. This worked great for about a month, but then it just fell off because the adhesive had worn off. If you are concerned about your kids getting into a front load washer, I recommend buying a washer model that has a door lock button/feature. There is of course some chance that a kid could figure out how to unlock the door, but not much more so than the chance that they could figure out how to open this device, or just aggressively pull on the door until the adhesive gives out. The other option would be to put a lock on your laundry room door. Definitely more effective, and possibly cheaper.

I am so happy with this dryer lock. It has a good, solid stick and was well worth the money. Now my little 2 year old doesn't play with the dryer door anymore. Thst in itself is money well spent. Just remember to clean the surface well prior to sticking and practice where you will put it so you do not have to readjust it.

I have a two and three year old who are very adventurous and in previous homes the washer and dryer were in places they could not get them. Now that we have a laundry room on the main level, I was constantly finding them messing around with the washer and dryer - so I bought these locks. They're very easy to install and they stay on well. The one on the dryer fell off (my husband keeps forgetting to open the lock before opening the door) but we stuck it right back on and it stayed.

I put these on my washer and dryer 1 month ago, the stickiness is completely gone and they both fell off. the washer lock fell off about 2 weeks ago and the dryer lock fell off today. Great idea and if they stuck on better i would give them a great review but now there is a sticky spot on both my washer and dryer and i have no safety locks. i bought these for me to comply with my daycare rules.

The good news is it keeps my 2-year-old grand niece out of my dryer. The bad news is that I have trouble getting in myself. It is a two-hand job to open it. On my dryer it had to be installed 12" off the floor, so I have to bend over, use one hand to press in, the other hand to push the rubber stop to the side and hold it there while I use the first hand to open the dryer. Then after loading or unloading, I have to follow the same process to close the door.

Great product, installed in 30 seconds, very sturdy, good fit for our Kenmore front-loading washer & dryers. I like that it can be operated with one hand. It comes with a distance plate so that it can be installed over doors of different thickness. Well thought out.

I bought this product only about a month ago, and it installed easily and seemed to work really really well. I was pleased: until the adhesive on the back of the lock totally gave up on both the washer and the dryer locks and the lock has simply fallen off the front of the machine. The adhesive is still stuck to the machine, but the lock is on the floor. Given that the adhesive comes stuck to the lock already, there is nothing I could have done differently. This apparently just isn't a good product in terms of the material they use. So now I need to buy 2 new locks and these weren't cheap!

Used briefly to hold the tumble dryer closed until I could replace the broken door catch. Simple to fit and also to remove when not requires.

Lock is still on and holding strong. Does as intended

Very disappointing. I bought this to keep my grandaughters safe. The lock itself does not fit to the appliance securely, and even when in place it did not keep the children out - my 17 month year old grandaughter easily unlocked it. I intend to send back
