VELLOFreeWave Captain Wireless TTL Triggering System for Nikon

People (photographers mostly) have tried to convince me not to get the as an alternative to the "standard" that is out there. But the Vello Triggers have suited the purpose and I have had no issue through 7+ shoots. Granted they may not have a bunch of "bells & whistles" like the higher end ones, but I think that's the point. I think they will actually do more but I have not have the time to self educate yet - but they do the job nicely. I also get great battery life using just regular batteries. I may move to the high end triggers as I advance (maybe), but I will ALWAYS carry these in my bag as a back-up if I do. Until then (no time soon), these are my go to triggers - and you can't beat the price!Also to note: Comes with a great carrying case & all the accessories/adapters you will every need. I don't recommend storing the batteries in them as I keep catching the ON switch when I insert them into the storage case, but that' my bad.

medium quality materials but woks

This is the poorest quality accessory that I have purchased for my Nikon. The system is utterly unreliable. One day it will work; the next day, nada, zip, a big fat zero. No rhyme; no reason. Fresh batteries in both units, plus the camera and flash. Set the channel to correspond on both. Press "test" on each to ensure the units are communicating. Click shutter, no flash. Fiddle with batteries, settings etc. and just maybe it will work, but probably not. Put aside in frustration. Try again a few days later, and it will work. Really, really junky product. Do not waste your money. There is a reason this product is cheap compared to other similar products.

I purchased a set and it conked out after a year - the battery contacts are very thin, flimsy, and break easily. I purchased a second set even though I only needed the transmitter. I had the same problem, it stopped working after a few months of use. I put in fresh batteries - one after another - but the unit simply was dead. Don't buy this product.
