MGTECH2 Pack Stainless Steel Oyster Plate, Pan and Serving Tray, Shell Shaped Platter

Firstly, I love these trays. That being said, they could definitely be greatly improved by the manufacturer and I’ll suggest some things below, but for my needs - a refrigerated oyster plate, really, this is a great start. 5 stars for the effort (and since I haven’t seen any others).I eat oysters fairly often. I’ve even gone on a couple of midnight trips to the Fulton Fish Market for boxes of ‘em lately - but that’s another story. I like eating oysters slowly. I just had 8 over about 30 minutes. It is a fact that oysters reach room temperature very quickly (but you know, always seem even warmer). On a plate it’s only a few minutes until they’re warm and not nearly as enjoyable. Not to mention on a normal plate they topple over and the liquer spills, etc.So I’d try putting the oysters on ice, like you of course see in restaurants. But I don’t have crushed iced. So I made some with a towel and a mag light, and yeah they stayed cool but every once in a while one would slip and some of that melted ice would get in... ruined. So you see I was desperate for something that would hold my oysters upright and keep them cool. This is all there is as was as far as I can tell. If I’m wrong please let me know!I’m not a cooked oyster guy so I can’t speak on its usefulness there and I believe what others have written, but just looking at the thing I wouldn’t imagine it would do well in an oven with cooked food on it. Unless you just plan to use it once.Now, as for what would be better? Attached is a picture of how I’m using it. First I turned them upside down and put water in them to freeze. Which worked ok but because the lip is so thin it was hard not spilling all the water out in the freezer. So I remembered I had these plastic plates I got from target and these fit perfectly inside. So the tray on the right has 1/2” of water under the metal. As soon as I took the picture I put it safely back in the freezer. It’s gonna be great. :). So to the manufacturer: 1 - the cups are way too shallow. Please dig them deeper. 2 - And to accommodate this you’ll have to raise the lip even more which will be great for customers because we can turn it over, fill it up with water more easily and freeze it. 3 - And if you really want to come through you could also give us a cover for the bottom (if that makes sense) so when we turn it back over to use, the ice doesn’t melt all over. Either way, it’ll look great presented on almost any plate. You can also sprinkle some water on the top and put it back in the freezer for a few minutes and it looks really cool for serving. Yes, I’ve thought about this product. Haha.I hope that was helpful, happy eating, and peace.

The wells for the oysters are very shallow. There are no handles for the pan. Yours managing by holding on to the thin pan. The underside edge is uncomfortable and awkward when you are trying to put it in the oven or on the grill. The metal is thin. They did well in the dishwasher and cleaned up nicely.

These are very nice. I like them and will enjoy using them to make different types of food. They are just as nice at using cast iron but without the weight. I am happy with my purchase.

Rec'd two pieces. Both are fine use wise. However, one began rusting after two uses. The other is bright, shiny no rust. Doesn't hurt the oysters but the rusty one doesn't look nice on the dining table.

Love these for making munchies for a party. They are perfect for Oysters Rockefeller and other goodies. Maybe a little tedious to clean but the presentation factor makes up for it. Will order again. Well worth the price.
