I recently received a down comforter for my own bed that both my daughter and granddaughter have been super jealous about. When I was offered this twin size down alternative comforter from Amazon, I decided to surprise my granddaughter with it. I am so impressed with the quality. For starters, it arrived in a vacuum sealed bag, all flattened like a pancake, but as soon as I opened it up and the air hit the blanket, it was like adding air to an inflatable raft! Its very similar to my down filled comforter -- so thick and fluffy, but not overly warm or heavy, and its so wonderfully comfy and cozy. I had a flannel duvet cover that I tucked it inside of (its a wonderful fit!) and topped her bed with it. She spent the day in her room and said she felt like her bed was giving her a great big hug! I told her that her bed is like a minature version of mine, even our duvets are the same color (altho that wasn't intentional!) One big difference I would note is that the down alternative is quieter than a down comforter. My blanket "crinkles" and makes noise when its moves around, but hers is quieter. I doubt that this is significant (although if you don't like the noise a down comforter adds, this might be a good thing!) You also can't beat the cost. Since its tucked inside a duvet cover, it's not obvious that this isn't an actual down comforter and to be honest, other than the size (and the sound), I can't tell her comforter apart from mine! I definitely recommend this down alternative comforter if you're on a budget.

I was hesitant to purchase a comforter at such a low price, but the reviews convinced me to purchase this and I have to say, I'm so glad I did! Coming from using a down comforter, I wasn't completely sold on the idea of a down alternative, but I wanted something cruelty free, and the recycled poly fill was added bonus. The comforter is not too thick, not too thin, and is very soft. I do have a duvet cover for it, but it doesn't need one, and it also has loops on the corners so you can tie down a cover which keeps it in place. It keeps me warm, sometimes a little too warm, but I also live in Texas. I'm not sure how this will hold up to washing, but again, I have a cover for it.Overall, I'm very pleased with this down alternative comforter. The quality is very good for the price.

The AmazonBasics Down-Alternative comforter arrived in a vacuum sealed package. It was small and dense, but as soon as I opened the package it puffed up. The cover feels silky. I believe it is high thread count. It is also quilted so that the stuffing doesn't bunch up or shift. Once it was shaken out it lofted well. No, it is not the same as down, but if it was we would have a difficult time using it. I am in Hawaii and there is virtually never a time when down is called for. Feathers also smell in a humid environment. This works well for us. It is well designed and well made. There are no loose threads or badly sewn areas.It is simple, basic, but well done.

The comforter arrives in a compressed bag along with a clear plastic storage zippered bag. When I cut the bag, the comforter puffed up a bit and I found that the comforter is a thin-medium fill good for using in moderate temperatures. There was no odor to the comforter. The sizing is true to a twin size. The comforter and fill is made of 100% polyester. The stitching is good quality. I recommend using a 100% cotton duvet with this comforter. Overall, a nice basic comforter!

I love this blanket it is seriously SO COMFORTABLE and FLUFFY!!!!! So, I washed it under delicate/high spin setting, put it in my dryer under delicate lowest heat setting there is. Guess what! Came out smelling good and fresh! I suggest it. Worth the money! Get it! Affordable!

Bought this to replace another comforter. I like that it is light but not too much. Doesn't overheat in summer weather. It will fit in my washing machine too.

What I got is definitely not the same as the one in the picture, in the picture it looks fluffy, the one I got is so flat and feels super cheap feels like it’ll tear apart with the first wash, if it makes it till I need to wash it!! 😒Plus it says it has 8 loops to secure the duvet cover, well mine doesn’t have any! I contacted the seller and never got a Reply!!It took 2 weeks to get it delivered
