Q: I just want a place to put all my souvenir magnets, will this board work for it?

Magnets do work on the board. I have only used the small magnets that came with the board and they are holding up the one item. I also use the pins that came with the board as well.

Q: What size is this board? I can't believe they left out such an important piece of infomation.

20 3/4in X 15in. I purchased two to go side by side to make it large enough to cover the space over my desk.

Q: I have a granite backsplash on the wall over my granite desktop. Would command strips be adequate for mounting this board?

I would not recommend doing that. This is a sturdy, quality made product with a bit of weight to it and not sure the command strips would hold it over the long haul. Understand, this is just my opinion - my board is anchored to studs in a wall. It is possible that with a number of command strips you could get it to hold, but I would look for something a little lighter.
