Purchase these whistles as a replacement for my lifeguard son. . This is exactly what they use on the beach. The breakaway cord did break away during heavy Surf when he was out on a rescue, but I don’t think that will be a problem for the average person

I have used this whistle for 15 years as a referee and they work great. I bough the pack of orange for our summer camp lifeguards for this same reason. I prefer to use a rubber tooth guard around the mouthpiece on my own whistle as it stays in my mouth.

Very bright color and perfect to attach to our lifejackets since they are pealess whistles that won’t bog down when wet.
