Volkman Seed Avian Science Super Parrotlet 20lb

This Volkman Parrotlet seed mix is so hard to find!! Especially at a decent price, or for less than $8/lb. Chewy discontinued it entirely & hasn't had it available for several months now. So this big bag is a huge money savings @ $3.50/lb (more than half off what you'll find elsewhere), & it's the best bird food I've found in >20yrs. My Alexandrine just loves it (it has LOTS of safflower, lol.) But it has no fatty sunflower seeds, & it includes a nutritional pellet formulation for vitamins & such. In short, this mix has it ALLLL!!

Great food for your birds to keep them healthy

Since the label in the picture and look different than on the smaller bag I was hesitant. When it got here it was the exact same level as a smaller bag in the exact same seed just at bulk price. Worth the money!

I usually love Volkman seed but this one had moths in it and had to be thrown out. Also not much Niger seed as shown in the picture. But most of the time their products are great, but this bad was substandard.Veneita

GREAT PARROTLET FOOD, NO BUGS ALTHOUGH THE PELLETS ARE WAY TO BIG FOR PARROTLETS. FOR A COMPANY THAT CLAIMS TO MAKE A SCIENTIFIC MIX, THESE PELLETS ARENT EVEN TOUCHED BY PARROTLETS EVEN IF YOU GRIND THEM UP. THEY ARE WAY TO BIG FOR THEM. ALSO WHEN THROWN IN THE WATER THE SPOIL VERY QUICKLY AND CAUSE A VERY FOWL ODOR.

I ordered this at the beginning of the week and two days later I have 20 lbs/ 5 bags of premium parrotlet food. It is almost impossible to find a pet shop that carries a brand for this specific little bird. And the price break down is less than we have seen in it in those very rare stores.

I’ve always bought this food in smaller amounts but it wasn’t available when I needed to order last month. So I thought I would order this bulk package for my 2 Parrotlets. WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!! It is sealed tight in the same type of container we use for our wild bird seed on the back porch with no issues because of the rubber seal that works great. In just a few weeks it was obvious that this bag had been infiltrated with pantry moths. Yuck! Thankfully they were tightly sealed so they couldn’t escape but this seed is going out to the trash! $75 down the drain. NEVER AGAIN!!!
