No, This is one reason I returned this product. That and the dividers are weak, with a overall poor quality

Are the dividers inside removable ?

No the dividers are I next under a layer of fabric. They don't come out or adjust in size

Can I leave the cover open and put the case within a drawer?

I think this case would be too big to fit into a drawer. I personally leave mine on top of my dresser, open or close, & it works fine for me that way.
