A Quality Streamlined, Lightweight, & Comfortable Flat Water Life Vest (but not USCG approved)
Night Cat [CE Approved] Life Jackets for Adults Kayaking Boating Vests Inflatable Lifesaving PFD, Survival Preservers, Lightweight Premium Quality, Automatic and Manual, 150KG/330LBS.Sold by Better Catch $74.99I was looking for a more comfortable life jacket for flat water kayaking... our rigid foam Type II and Type III whitewater life vests were just too bulky, hot, and uncomfortable. These Night Cat inflatable vests were just the ticket: Slim, lightweight, and comfortable, all at a very reasonable price-point.In particular, I liked: (1) the zipper pocket in the outer case that can hold a cell phone (it will accept a device up to 6.5 inches long); (2) the neoprene fabric collar that prevents the vest from chafing your neck; (3) the SOLAS-rated reflectors on the outside of the vest (there are reflectors on the air bladder also). BONUS: They come with a nice mesh and clear plastic storage bag. This vest is perfect for recreational boating or other water activities conducted on relatively calm waters. The vests are very well made... almost identical to similar products costing 2 - 4 times as much. They arrive fully-charged and ready-to-use.To be clear, the Night Cat vests do NOT carry a U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) approval label. These vests are CE approved, which means they meet standards recognized by most European countries (the vests also have an Australian certification). Based upon the specifications of this vest (CE approved for off-shore use; will turn many (but not all) unconscious persons to a safe, face out-of-water position; 150 Newtons minimum buoyancy; hold full inflation for a minimum of 24 hours), these Night Cat vests are EQUIVALENT in performance to a USCG TYPE II inflatable personal flotation device (PFD) [i.e., a buoyant vest for general boating on calm near-shore and inland waters where fast rescue is likely].However, if you absolutely must, by applicable federal, state, or local rules, have a USCG-approved PFD for your type of craft or activity, you may have to get something else... without a USCG approval label, the Night Cat vests probably would not satisfy these regulatory requirements. For flat and calm water activities where a USCG-approved life vest is not mandated, these Night Cat life vests are perfect.[NOTE 1]: From someone with technical rescue experience... if you are going to be far off-shore, in whitewater, or in swift water where there's the potential for "strainers", wear (as appropriate) a Type I, Type II, or Type III (or if applicable, a Type V) rigid foam life jacket[NOTE 2]: I was very impressed with the customer service provided by the seller, Better Catch

Great product and customer service
I really really like the jacket. It is perfect. Way better that the traditional foam jackets. This company even reached out to me to see if the life jacket was a great product. This really shows that this is a great company. They really care about the customer. Great product and great customer service.

Comfortable and Functional
I really liked the inflatable jacket. It has lots of nice little features like adjustable straps and reflective front patch. It was easy to get the fit right for me and it is a lot less bulky than a traditional life jacket. If your looking for something that works well, is comfortable, and has a great price, this is it.

Good quality
I was looking for life jackets for kayaking that didn't have the auto-inflate feature as they are just for worst case scenarios. Not doing anything extreme so I wanted to have control of whether they needed to be inflated. Quality seems good, comfortable to wear, and they are on the lower end of the pricing for these so expectations met.

Great Life Jacket, NOT US Coast Guard Approved
Great construction and materials. I believe this vest is a great value. I would have given it a five star except that it is not US Coast Guard approved. I am positive US Coast Guard approved vests say it on the label. If stopped for a safety check one thing specifically looked for is "US Coast Guard Approved" on the label. The life jacket has a European approval label, (CE).

Less bulkier and very comfortable
I use it for boating and fishing. This vest is very light and is it not bulkier like regular safety vests. I’m very pleased with it

Peace of mind
Little bit heavier than I expected but lighter than a lot of others I’ve used. Comfortable and gives me peace of mind knowing I can inflate it if I need to, but without the bulk of a traditional pfd.

Comfort and security
Easy to wear with the complete security of knowing the product could provide protection against drowning. Use it on my first fishing trip this year and didn't even know it was on.
