Very easy to assemble. I wasn't sure about the assembly process because of other reviews but had no problem. If you follow the instructions and do not tighten until end, you will be fine. Tip: put bolts in at first using your hands but don't tighten all the way. At end use the tool provided to tighten. The first one I put together I used the tool for both, it took me 1 1/2 hours. The second shelf I did using tip above, it took me 45 minutes. Also, when you put the first shelf on to attach, the pole at top does not fit flush and that's ok, it is suppose to do that. After you put all the pieces together, not tight but with wiggle room, you will look at the bottom and move to right or left to make sure legs are same length. Then adjust and tighten all the way down moving pole as needed for round parts to be straight. By aligning the bottom first before tightening, it will automatically be square in all places as you tighten. I did not have to use a tape measure as some other review stated. It does help to have two people to secure to wall. As far as looks, I love it! It looks more expensive than you would think. The different tones in wood color make it versatile to match your wood floor. I would highly recommend this despite any negative reviews on assembly. It just takes time and following instructions.

These are made from fake wood and thin-walled pipe, but they look at least 10x better than any other bookshelf in this price range while being more than strong enough. A major selling point is that the fake wood grain wraps around the edges, instead of the corners being completely mismatched like most. If there is ever a problem with the shelves themselves, it would be easy enough to replace them with genuine wood and reuse the pipes/hardware. We got one set to replace a short bookshelf in our kitchen, liked it so much we got two more to replace similar shelves in the dining room, and are probably going to get a few more to replace the other set of shelves in our dining room so they match. We have high ceilings, so the 7-tier shelves look good and give a lot more space than other bookshelves. The only real negative is that the pipes are inset just enough that it shrinks your useable space between them, while not leaving enough on the outside to have useful space.

Beautiful ladder style bookcase. It came exactly as I had expected and as shown. I spray painted it before assembly and it came out like a tailored piece of art. Im very pleased with it. And might I add - it is very sturdy.

The shelves are some kind of particle board with a veneer on them, but it is a textured veneer. Looks and feels nicer than you'd expect for the price. The pipes look nice, as well. Assembly was easy, and extras of all the screws and drywall anchors were provided. The instructions did not say what size hole to drill for the anchors as far as I could see, but a 3/8" hole worked well. The anchors are flimsy, but just tap them in with lots of little gentle taps and they work fine. Once assembled and mounted, it feels quite stable and sturdy. I wouldn't try to use it as a ladder, but I'm sure I can load it up with books and plants and such no problem. All around I'd say surprisingly good value!

The look of the shelves is exactly what I needed for my bar. The shelves aren’t super wide and not great for storage, but was exactly what I needed in a smaller space. Looks great behind the bar and sturdy enough to hold bottles if that’s your plan. Shipping was fast and super easy to put together. If you’re looking for an accent shelf to hold picture frames or tchotchkes , it’s perfect and would highly recommend!

Love this bookcase. It is super sturdy and fits perfectly where I need it. However, be warned that there are no pilot holes drilled into the shelves and you will need a power drill or electric screwdriver. Also, a regular phillips screwdriver was needed in places where the drill was too bulky. Slight inconvenience aside, the instructions are easy to follow and put together with two people.
