I was searching for ceramic ramekins to use for meat pies. (12 oz. was too small and 16 oz. is too big.) These are the perfect size portion and wall height height. [First, a Tip regarding all the negative Reviews about labels. Yes, it is stupid for a manufacturer to use a paper label with strong adhesive on the inside of this item, but you can get it completely off and it will be worth it. Gently and patiently a use fingernail, single edge blade, sharp chisel or whatever to remove as much of the paper as you can. Go slowly and more will come off in tact. Then remove the adhesive residue with a make-up remover pad or cotton ball moistened with a little nail polish remover and viola! - all gone! Be sure to wash the ramekins before use. The acetone will not affect the porcelain finish. Don't forget to remove the barcode label on the bottom too. It will peel right off.] These ramekins seem to be high quality - very uniform glaze with no observable pits or voids. It has a smooth unglazed bottom with no nibs to scratch things. I like the recessed inner top rim since it makes release easier. I am very happy with these. Packing was fine - all arrived unbroken.

One arrived with a crack on the inside of the bowl so I rated this 4 stars instead of 5. I made some good sized chicken pot pies out of these that were more than enough to feed my family. Since the unused one has that crack I couldn't use it and threw it away. (amazon gave me a % back to make up for the broken one)I was a bit nervous that these wouldn't hold up in the oven @ 400 since the one had the crack in it, but the rest did fine. It would have been nice to have a full set of 6 (for extras or drop in guests) but thats ok,I can always buy more later if I want. Will update my review after I've used them more as to how well they hold up to regular use. ****Update**** They are a good size and are heavy enough that they don't go sliding all over the place. They bake very well, look nice, and are easy to clean.

While most ramekins are either two big for a main dish serving or two small these are a very unique size... 14 oz is just perfect to give everyone their own mini serving of things you'd normally cook in one large casserole dish which is quite unique... individual pot pies individual enchilada pies individual shepard's pies cobblers creme brulees salad bowls such as pasta salads, potato salad, etc layered desserts chocolate lava cakes or any hot dessert topped with icecream They are simply a great size, especially for an individual main dish but you'll also find yourself using them for appetizers and dips to serve several things...nuts, dips, etc. Since they are white you could easily use them to go well on a larger plate if, for example, you want to do chips on a larger plate with dip inside served in the middle of the plate. You can take them right from the oven to the table.

These were great. The only reason for four stars is that they came with a sticker on the bottom of the inside of the bowl. I couldn't get it out to save my life. Soaked it, scrubbed it, did everything I could. It was a pain. That being said after a long time of cleaning I was able to use them. They worked well. Made French Onion soup. The family loved it!

I had mixed emotions about ordering because of mixed reviews. These are great ramekins, came packaged in credibly well and the stickers came off with ZERO hassle. Perfect size at 14oz for individual pot pies, souffles or ice cream dishes. They came packaged in a box separated by dividers and inside another box with no wiggle room. The stickers came of in less than 30 seconds for all six. It was 90 degrees here and the glue was warm from sitting on my porch. Don't listen to the reviews from clueless people. These are great.
