I think so AS LONG AS it it secured appropriately especially if hanging from ceiling (make sure it's in a stud). Not sure what weight limit is though

No, it does not weigh items. Although you can manually adjust the weight meter to appear as if it is weighing the decorative fruit or vegetables you have in the scale.
