AleHorn Original Handcrafted Authentic Viking Drinking Horn Tankard for Beer Mead Ale - Genuine Medieval Inspired Stein Mug Food Safe Vessel with Handle (20oz)

So I was iffy on getting this because there were some that didn't get good ones and some broke and all that. But I wanted a true horn for the Renaissance Festival, for the way I dress when I work it is that if a Norse (Viking) woman with the apron dress. And I wanted something to go with it. So after I had received it, I was amazed at how big it actually is. I saw that someone got a very tiny one and I was afraid that I would get a small one too. But it's amazing! There is the initial smell, but it didn't smell like chemicals, just animal kinda smell. I'm very pleased with mine because the one I got is mostly grey and black some tan/green bit but that's it. I filled it all the way the water and set it down on a paper towel and walked away. When I came back roughly 10-20 minutes later the paper wasn't wet. There was a small ring but that was were I had set the mug. The resin covering it isn't THE best. Right where the handle bends back it's a little rough, but not peeling which I don't mind it gives it some texture. There is two bubbles on it from the resin and idk why but nothing terrible (to me anyway). I will probably update more when I get to use it at the grounds. Btw it does have a nice sterdy weight to it! It's not very light like I thought it would be!

My Alehorn arrived last night and I was ecstatic - it's absolutely gorgeous, and I immediately fell in love. I was looking forward to enjoying a beer with it today (worked out before bed and didn't wanna kill my gainz, bro). Then, the unthinkable happened: I found some damage on the inside of the horn. Having already imprinted on my horn like a baby duck with its mother, I hoped it was reparable and emailed the company for advice. First of all, Ben replied to my email after only 11 minutes which is a pretty astonishing response time. Second, and speaking as a manager in the service industry myself, he provided some of the best customer support I've ever received. He told me how to fix my horn, then told me I shouldn't have had to and that he was sending me a brand new one in addition. Not all heros wear capes. Actually for all I know Ben does. I didn't ask. You get the point. I'll update this review with details once I repair the first horn, receive the new one, and drink from both. So far, I'm pretty impressed by the product and the company.

I have received a few Ale Horn products as gifts as well as purchased items as well. This company is wonderful. Their customer service is at the same wonderful quality as its products. This particular tankard (AleHorn Drinking Horn Tankard with Handle White Premium Pearl - L ) is marketed as a large. Mine safely held 16 ounces of liquid. It is made of authentic horn so no two items will ever be the same. It is not designed for hot liquids (though Ale Horn does sell a hot beverage tankard so check those out). It also is a hand wash only item. But if you are looking for an item to be used well in a man cave, for cosplay as a viking or dwarf or just to have a fun earthy drinking vessel, then this company can set you up. It is worth the money and the company stands behind its products. You won't be disappointed.

I can't really complain too terribly about this purchase. It IS a beautiful, well-crafted tankard and I love the colors. The only real complaint that I have is that the XL I purchased does NOT hold 24 ounces as advertised - which was why I had specifically chosen the XL. Two cans of my favorite brew are 24 ounces and this tankard, sadly, does not accomodate the full 24 ounces - not even close. I'll have to measure later to see how much it actually DOES hold. That said, if you're willing to accept that it may not hold exactly what it claims to hold (fairly understandable, since it IS a natural product and not factory mass-produced), it is a gorgeous addition. Update: I've only had the mug for about a month and I've noticed what seems to be delamination or fine cracking on the outside of the mug and around the rim. I don't know if that's because of the nature of the product or not. It's still useable and I do use it most every day...but I thought I should mention that aspect as well.

Beautiful! Very masculine. Bought for son as gift; he washed and used immediately! It's a eye catcher for sure. Most of all, he uses it and loves it!

I purchased 2 XL mugs for my wife and I. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is bar none. The mugs are polished beautifully, and have their own unique holding style. My wife took the traditional one, and I took the one that was straight out of a movie. I am a huge medieval and viking buff. This suits me to a T, and I can't wait to use it watching my Minnesota Vikings play. We have a keg fridge, and always have a mead keg on tap. This is going to be filled stat tomorrow morning with mead while smoking a turkey for Thanksgiving. I cannot wait and I feel like I will immediately grow a beard the second the mead hits my lips. Thank you Alehorn for an epic product!!

Bought for my husband as a gift. He loved it! Comes with the bag as shown in the photo (I had an xl cup). Colour of cup was black with lines of light brown. Really nice!!

Sehr schoen. ABER es rinnt. 3 mal Kaffe reingegossen, und schon beim 3. Mal kam der Kaffe unter wieder raus. Bin sehr entäuscht denn es war ein Geschenk. Jetzt nur noch als Deko benutzen. War nicht wirklich das Ziel.

Zuerst mal ja ich weis es handelt sich um ein Handgemachtes Horn. ABER: Tropfen und verronnene Glasur an der Außenseite und Franzen muss es nicht haben. Hab Fotos dazu gemacht. Auf Dichtheit habe ich es gar nicht überprüft. Wurde sofort zurückgesendet da um nur 20 Euro mehr wo anders schönere und qualitativ Hochwertigere Trinkhörner/Becher gesehen habe.
