Monstrous Stories #1: Night of the Zombie Goldfish Paperback – March 1, 2013

My 7 year old son has ADHD and its difficult to get him to focus on a book. I found a book in this series at a local thrift shop,( The Day the Mice Stood Still), and it was a huge hit!Both my kids ,( the other is a 2 year old girl), requested I get this one next so I did and they were just as impressed.The books are very simple reads split into chapters. The font is large and easy to read and there are lots of pictures peppered into it so it really helps kids who are just going from picture books to chapter books.The stores are silly and my kids crack up every time we read them.

This is the second Dr. Roach book we have read. My grandson enjoys kids sci-fi stories. We read a chapter a day after school. He is 8 years old, grade 3. Loves the weirdness. I will buy more

This was the 1st chapter book my 6 year old son read (with some help from me) and he found it hysterical. Since this book was all about an experiment that went awry I took the opportunity to teach my son what an experiment is in real life (mentos + diet coke lol). Anyways, was alot of fun for me to see him actually enjoy a book. :)

My son likes zombies and has a goldfish, so I bought this book so he could read about both at the same time. We read the book at bedtime in four days. We alternated reading - I read one chapter, he read the next one. It was fun and easy to read. Now my son is asking for other book in the series, specifically The Attack of the Giant Hamster. Of course I am getting that book since my son is willing to read himself.

My son enjoyed reading the Dr. Roach books as some of the first books he read (1st-2nd grade level). The book made him laugh out loud and he showed me several parts. Great for kids learning the joy of reading. #1 and #2 were his favorite in the series.

I both this for my 7 year old grandson who loves to read. I gave it to hm last week. He said he liked it. If you're looking for something to stoke the interest of a young reader try this book.

Liked reading about the trap that was set for the goldfish. Good sense of humor. Thought the idea of zombie goldfish was funny. 7 year old boy enjoyed this story.

Love it so much. The story was funny and the pictures made us laugh quite a lot. It is quite easy to read by my son who is seven years old. After finished this book, he can't stop reading other Dr. Roach's books. He loves them all.
