DIRECTV SWM16 Single Wire Multi-Switch (16 Channel) (SWM-16)

I bought this SWM in order to connect both of my DVR's together and then to the internet using the Cinema Connection Kit. It worked as expected as soon as I connected it. Since I just installed it I can't speak to its longevity, but it worked with no hookup problems at all. The 16 channels capability is many more than I likely will ever need, but I bought this over the SWM 8 because the price was not that much more, and if I am making the change to a SWM system I wanted to make sure I don't need to expand again later.Be aware that this item does not come with any sort of instructions. You need to do your research and understand what a SWM does and how to properly connect it, and then how to set up the receivers to use it. You can easily find it online. Most DirecTV customers will have an installer install the necessary equipment and do all of that, and those customers are not likely to buy this item. Hopefully anybody buying this item will know what they are doing when they purchase it. If not they are likely to be very frustrated.Also be aware that you will likely need at least one SWM compatible splitter to use with this SWM.

I received a used one. It was clean, but obviously used.

My signals were all reading zero on the odd transponders of the 103 satellite resulting in the inability to tune in certain channels Multi-switches are known to go (mine lasted 8 years) so I checked Amazon for a replacement SWM16 and sure enough it was available and at a very good price. The new multi-switch is installed and everything is working again.....easy fix.

HAVE HAD TO PAY MUCH MORE FOR SAME PRODUCT IN THE PAST. PRODUCT DOES JOB AND PRODUCT IS COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION TO PROJECT UPGRADE

Product arrived as described and worked like it is supposed to. There are no directions that come with this product, however if you do your homework on the internet there are quite a few detailed wiring diagrams that help with installation. If you are a do it yourself person and do not want a newby installer putting a foot through your attic, go ahead and purchase this product.

This switch is a great solution for commercial DirecTV projects whether you are providing signal to regular receivers or to a Comm1000/2000 as I do. Moreover, this vendor delivered the switch must faster than the 3 weeks I was told it would be delivered. I'll definitely buy from them again.
