Better than the Classico, in my opinion.
Had the LavAzza at the Radisson Blu hotel restaurant and loved it. In trying to find a K-Cup equivalent, I went with the Classico first but was not pleased. Disappointed but undeterred, I went with this "dark roast" next and found this is much closer to the goal for me. Not entirely the same as the restaurant experience but in my 10 year K-Cup tasting-and-testing experience, it seems by the time the K-Cups are manufactured, packaged, and distributed (with whatever coffee is put into them), they are but a faint representation of the original source. However, the LavAzza Dark roast comes closet to what I experienced in the restaurant. Common tip: Less water makes a bolder flavor profile, then I like to add cream and I'm pretty content.

Gran is Grand!
Have tried over 80 "darker/richer" style K-cup coffee from just about every major and minor coffee house across the US (and abroad) like 100% Kona, Jamaican Blue Mtn, and others, but other than the non-Keurig coffee by Equator Coffee (tasted Yountville's Villagio hotel), its difficult to find a reasonably priced rich/smooth K-cup coffee. The only common reasonably priced K-cup that is rich/smooth other than Sumatran Reserve is this Dark Roast Lavazza "Gran Selezione". The fact that I drink only rich dark roasts (and yes the many Nespresso espresso coffees) has helped me calibrate my dark/rich coffee tastes over the past 40+ years (started with whole bean export coffees in college at 18). Also tried the other Italian mega brand "Illy" but they have their own coffee system and that coffee is just ok- lacks the richness I crave. But once I tried the whole bean Lavazza coffess and discovered the new k-cups I was excited. Lavazza recently introduced 4 different k-cups styles: two medium roasts (Gran Aroma and Classico), one espresso roast (for a coffee machine) called Perfetto, and one Dark Roast called Gran Selezione. Being I like the darker roast, my favorite is this Gran Selezione is my pick, but also like their Perfetto as a second choice. This Gran Selezione is my go-to daily pick next to the Sumatran Reserve K-cup -period. If I wander off the K-cup trail, my pick is Equator Coffees, but that is rare as like many time is money and I'm on the go often, so I like the convenience of the K-cups. I think those that may not like this coffee are likely not fans of dark roast coffee and might prefer a medium or light roast style.

It really depends on your taste
I really prefer dark roast coffees, which is why I gave this one a shot. For me, the smell, and the flavor, were tough to overcome, and the taste was more of a medium roast, to me. The quality was still fine, and it may have just been my lack of experience with this flavor, but I ended up pushing through, to finish these cups. I much prefer sumatra

My fave!
I love these Lavazza Dark Roast (Green) k-cups. I've tried lots of different ones over the years and these are really great. They have a nice deep flavor and are not too acidic. Even my coffee snob of a husband likes them and he mostly grinds his own beans and does pour over or espresso most mornings.

Lavazza K-Cup Portion Pack for Keurig Brewers,...
I was expecting a bit more robust flavor, as I have had their Espresso in Italy and it is the best for crema and aroma and flavor, when used in restaurants.About 1 in 4 the cups split open on top in the Keurig and grounds spew all over the inside and some go into the cup.

Very disappointed
So this is supposed to be dark roast. It does not taste like it, more like mediocre medium roast. And the brew is very weak. It takes two cups to make a half-way decent (not really good) 8 oz cup using a Keurig machine. Lavazza used to be my favorite drip coffee. I guess K-cups are not the way to go here.

Too weak
This is a good premium brand so I had hope that the coffee would be decent. However, this coffee is too weak. Feels very watered down even when I follow the instruction and only brew 8 oz cups. Too bad I cannot return it. I do not recommend.

Too weak and split open
I was so excited to find this product in K cups, but ufortunately every K cup split open in my Keurig and made a mess of grounds all over. The little bit of coffee that I did get to taste was disappointing. I was expecting more of a strong robust flavor since I ordered the Dark Roast. The company did not except returns, but Amazon did give me a refund for the full amount because product was defective. Thank you Amazon!

Good, moderately strong coffee
We have been drinking Starbucks French Roast for decades. Finally decided that although we still like it, we would like to alternate with a less "bitter" coffee. This coffee fits the bill.

No sludge
Good quality and not bitter. One of the few kcups that does leave sludge in the bottom of the cup.

Produit digne de la compagnie.

Sip it
A bit too bitter even for a dark roast. I guess what suits your taste will determine your opinion of it.
