Green's Bakery Kosher Chocolate Babka - 24 oz

This is exactly what chocolate babka is supposed to taste like. Not the buttery stuff you get at bakeries that they call babka but which tastes just like any other chocolate loaf you can get at any bakery—this isn’t a French pastry—it has to be dairy free deliciousness to be authentic babka. Not because dairy is bad but because that’s how the kosher recipes had it. It gives it a truly unique, classic babka taste. Chocolatey yet with morsels of crispiness. This is the one! So glad it’s on Amazon.

We love it with our breakfasts. Seems fairly fresh and defrosts well out of the freezer. Goes great with good coffee!

I normally get my babka from Katz Deli for the holidays, but it’s all the way in NY so shipping is expensive (like $30+ for shipping). Greens Bakery’s babka is perfect. It’s not too small, is the perfect texture, and just overall very tasty. It’s practically fresh when getting to you. I checked out Greens Bakery website as well (you can get most their stuff here on Amazon) and they have amazing prices. Same good quality as Katz Deli but far more affordable. This is some of the best babka! I’m trying their Rugelach next!!

So. I bought this in a local store for the first time. It was out of this world! I knew getting it there again would be hit or miss so I checked Amazon and it was here! I loved it so much I bought 4 to put in the freezer. I tried the Amazon one today and it was such a disappointment! The one from a local store was loaded with chocolate not just thin swirls like the one I tried from Amazon. Don't get me wrong. it is still good and moist but definitely a cut below the store bought one! It was shipped directly from Green's bakery so I can assume that this may be a one off. When I finally try the other three I will know more if they are all the same, then they are selling a different product to Amazon.... I hope not. But. it is still a very good babka but since I had something to compare it to. it was a disappointment!

I fortunately found a review on Green’s Bakery Chocolate loaf Babka bread while looking for something yummy and they really are I tried the cinnamon and the chocolate my favorite is the chocolate! Wow so hard not to eat it every time I see it it is fabulous! I had never heard about Babka bread and it came from NYC far away to Utah and it was perfect soft not too soft I can’t have them around all the time but they’re delicious and I’ll buy again!

I've purchased the chocolate and the cinnamon babka several times, given it as gifts. It's Fabulous! No wrong turn here, this is so yummy and rich and chocolatey it can be gone in no time. Absolutely top ingredients and a delicious treat with coffee or tea.

Package was dry, broken pieces, deformed. Cannot make the trip from NY in one piece. It was dry, no taste.. dont wast your money. Find someone closer, or ask a local bakery….. &35.00 and un- usable. Never again…….
