Huge hit with my 1 year old!! We like to sing it rather than just read it!
My 1 year-old daughter was obsessed with this book during Christmas. She still loves reading it over a month later. I like to "sing" the book to her rather than just read it, it's more fun that way. It's funny when we are out and we hear the "real" song because she gets a little confused and makes a face like "Wait, it's not partridge in a pear tree, it's a red monster up in a tree???" Tip for parents/caregivers sick of reading this over and over again - the book is so repetitive, it is very easy to skip a couple of pages (say, go from the third day of Christmas to the eighth day of Christmas) without my child noticing :-)

My youngest loves this book
It's basically the 12 days of Christmas song in a monster theme. It's a little annoying but my 4 year old loves it.

Engaging way to entice toddler to count!
This book is entertaining due to the characters, Christmas decor, etc. but what I love most is that it entices my 18 month to want to read and count. Pages are simple and easy to use finger to point and count Christmas objects. This is a sure pleaser for child and parents!

Traditional song with new words
Adorable story to the 12 Nights of Christmas song. My one year old granddaughter was able to hold it well in her little hands.

Great book
This is one of our families favorite Christmas books. It's great for preschoolers, but even though my kids are older we still read it every year. We also love to gift this book to young kids.

Boring remake of traditional song
Small size is good for toddlers. The story gets lazy though. Supposed to be the monsters version of the 12 days if Christmas. Over half of it is the same as the song, but with "monsters" subbed in - boring!

Apparently not everything Elmo is good
This book is awful. My kids read it a few times and they aren’t really that into it. I hated reading it. They accidentally left the book outside in the rain and it was ruined. I was secretly so napped. I danced for joy as I threw the damaged book into the recycling. Don’t buy this

Very Wordy
My one year old is going through an Elmo phase. I figured this would be something that would engage her.The book is basically the 12 Days of Christmas with the words changed and Monsters replacing the Lords, Hens and varoius other miscreants from the traditional song.So the book is long. My one year old checked out around 5 or 6. She enjoyed when we sang the words (you almost have no choice) but it was always a struggle to get to the end.Perhaps when she's older next Christmas we may have more success.
