The Funny Side of Police Work!
Police work can be dangerous, frightening, tedious, boring, heartbreaking, and, occasionally, funny. Ex-cop Scott Baker and Tom Philbin seem to have cornered the market on chronicling the lighter side of police work. A LIGHTER SHADE OF BLUE, a 2011 follow-up to their earlier book FUNNIEST COP STORIES EVER, serves up another fun sampling of WEIRD, WILD & WACKY POLICE STORIES.A LIGHTER SHADE OF BLUE, published by Andrews McMeel Publishing, recounts over 100 stories policemen dealing with inept crooks, schizos, drunks, brain-dead civilians, anal-retentive superiors, green-behind-the-ears rookies, etc. Joe Friday wouldn't recognize the policemen found in Baker and Philbin's book; they all have a sense of humor! While A LIGHTER SHADE OF BLUE isn't a required buy, it is a fun read and easy on the pocketbook at $9.99. Recommended.

Poorly done.
Save your money on this one. I bought this book expecting funny, zany cop stories. Each story was very brief - I finished the book in half an hour and I'm not a fast reader! The stories were not funny. They were very ordinary, run-of-the-mill stories. You'd find funnier stuff just looking up cop stories on the Internet - for free.
