What is the statue made out of?

It is resin or resin/stone mix. I am partial to plaster or porcelain statues and this one doesn't totally pass for plaster or porcelain close up, but is beautiful nonetheless. I have it positioned on a self about 2 1/2 feet above me when I'm at my desk. Wth that positioning, I can't tell the difference in materials. Hope this helps.

Is the weight only 1.5lbs as is stated? Or is it incorrect?

I didn't actually weigh it. However, it feels heavy enough to be 1.5 lbs. Keep in mind it is just a guesstimate.
